Free speech trumps all that other crap because only with free speech can long-term constructive changes truly be made in society, and unfortunately, you really don't have free speech in Europe.

There is a lot more to freedom of speech than what is covered by law. You also have probably the strongest and most oppressive PC movement in the world. PC is the enemy of free speech.
As you are someone who purports to love 'freedom' so much, I assume you are against the Patriot Act. No, that would be too logical. I bet you are its biggest supporter.

Free speech in the U.S. is not covered by laws, but by the U.S. Constitution. As far as the Patriot Act, it was signed into law by Republican Bush and extended by Democrat Obama.
