They do dont' they? Some see wild labyrinthine conspiracies and come to believe that global warming is a giant hoax aimed at raising taxes or something weird like that. Then they somehow convince themselves that the entire world is faking a pandemic to affect the outcome of the US election. Then they convince themselves that after doing all that, the evil powers rigged the election in some manner so casual that just happens directly in view of CCTV cameras.henry quirk wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 5:08 amwhy waste your time, mannie?Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 4:39 am"Nothing to see here, folks...move along...just ignore the bodies."

It's arduous work to maintain this stance, you have to go in search of special web sites that tell you only what you want to be told.

Re: American election.
You said in an earlier post that we should let the courts handle it and decide the matter (or something to that effect). Now the courts have handled it and the verdict seems to be that Trump's accusations are baseless. So now that doesn't seem to satisfy you and you seem to be saying the courts are rigged or something. I don't get it. Normally you seem like a pretty rational person.Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 4:39 am"Nothing to see here, folks...move along...just ignore the bodies."

Actually, no, they haven't.
You've been told (implausibly) that there have been 33 court cases, all defeats. And you believe it. I understand. You want to believe it. There have actually been 3, according to Giulianni, all pending, all in lower courts, where one has to go to get to the Supreme Court. And the Supreme Court hasn't been involved yet.
When it is, we'll see what the judiciary has decided. Until then, what you have is the rumours the media wants you to have.
Meanwhile, here's how committees are actually deciding. Here's Georgia: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pu9zIEcPxvM

Re: American election.
There have of course been many cases presented to the courts on bhealf of DJT and none has met with success. What Giulianni is doing there is simply disowning all those that lose, such as this one filed by "DONALD J. TRUMP FOR PRESIDENT INC., et al.," and dismissed with prejudice by the Middle District of Pennsylvania on grounds of bad faith, dilatory motive, prejudice and futility.Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 3:17 pmActually, no, they haven't.

Yeah. It's getting time for you to start putting in the groundwork to revive your "I was never really a fan of Trump" routine. It was a silly facade but you'll be wanting it again soon.Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 3:55 pmWhen the Supreme Court rules, we'll see.FlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 3:34 pm There have of course been many cases presented to the courts on bhealf of DJT

Nothing's changed. I have no incentive to prefer Trump in particular. Another man would be as good...very likely, better.FlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 5:18 pm Yeah. Now, if I were picking, the guy I'd make president would be Trey Gowdy, actually, and I'm pretty certain he'd be a better pick. They guy's smart, tough, and principled. I'd like to see somebody like that in the Oval Office. It won't happen though.
But I am kind of appalled at Biden. A couple of facts are pretty obvious. Firstly, that he's mentally infirm -- we can all see that. Secondly, that he's unbelievably corrupt -- his dealings in Ukraine (of which he has proudly boasted) and the Biden laptop give us certainty of that, as well. We could say much more...such as that his own running-mate publicly accused him of having sexually assaulted women. But she walked that back after he appointed her, so I guess we'd need more proof on that one.
The thing that's intriguing, though, is that the MSM has succeeded in suckering the majority of America into believing that this utterly incompetent, totally corrupt individual is the man who should be leading their nation...and even convinced many that the majority actually voted for him. But a ton of stuff, starting with election night trends, give us reason to think that maybe they didn't.
Have the media taken over from democracy? Have political manipulators found ways to take the power to choose out of the hands of the electorate, and arrogate it to themselves, in the world's leading democracy? Anybody who believes in democracy has to be interested in those questions.
It's 1984 in 2020. And it's like watching a car-wreck in slow motion: you know the fallout's going to be horrible, but somehow you just can't turn away. You have to see what happens.

Re: American election.
Is there not some remnant of honesty in you that will note that Trump is mentally no sharper than Biden, that Trump is well known to be an Adderall addict, that Trump is a very blatant narcissist, and that he has carried out his presidency in a spirit of nepotism and self-interest? Also ... he did a lot of partying with Epstein, cheated on every wife he's had, boasted about just walking up to women and kissing them, is accused of many sexual assaults and has at least one real bad thing to match every one of those in your list.Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 6:04 pmNothing's changed. Also, I've mentioned this before. If Biden had actually been the one making the choice about foreign policy towards ~Ukraine (a given for him to be abusing that power) then the evidence of that would be in meeting minutes and internal memos within the State Department complaining about this jumped up VP running the show. So no, there was no need to get the Ukrainians to provide such evidence, the only need would be to get them to manufacture it.
Same goes for the years he spent demanding proof of Obama's birth. Notice how as soon as he had the power to find out the facts of that, Trump stopped enquiring?

I suppose all the 'Not our president' trantrums and destructive mob rampages for Trump's entire term don't count, or the endless accusations of 'Russia conspiracies' that apparently won him the last electionFlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 1:58 pmThey do dont' they? If Biden wants to come out of the shower naked trying to grab a piece of tail, why attack the dog?“What happened was I got out of the shower. I got a dog and anybody who’s been around my house knows — dropped, little pup dropped a ball in front of me. And for me to grab the ball,” Biden told CNN journalist Jake Tapper in his first post-election joint interview with Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.
“And I’m walking through this little alleyway to get to the bedroom. And I grabbed the ball like this and he ran. And I’m joking, running after him and grab his tail. And what happened was that he slid on a throw rug. And I tripped on the rug he slid on. That’s what happened. Oh man, not a very exciting story.”
