You constantly use the term "right?", with a question mark. Who are you trying to convince, and what are you trying to convince them of? If it's short for "Am I right?" then I would have to say that you are wrong.
Doc, that's the beauty of freedom of speech, any fool can say anything that they want, right?
And I'll be the first to support you in that endeavor! And that's right!!!!
I would agree to a point, and that point is that with every freedom comes a responsibility to not abuse that freedom by causing harm to others. So understanding that, people should not just say anything they want.
So your defending the guy that is condescending toward your buddy HC. Sure, you're free to do so! But then I remember a day when you busted my chops for doing so, hypocrite? Or do you just have a boner for me?

But this newbie retired 67YO has his head where the sun doesn't shine on this matter. Before the animals on planet earth, all matter could only have a trajectory due to the physical forces of the universe, and that's it. Or so the majority of human kind would surely agree. However earths animals can choose their trajectory. And as simple as that is to some, it's proof that free will, such that it is, is the case! To be capable of sensing danger, and deviating your course, all of which is based in knowledge, is proof positive that free will exists, such that it is, within the framework of a deterministic universe. Accumulated knowledge is the key factor in 'determining' the ability of 'free will,' such that it is!

Anyone that says different is saying that in a universe of inanimate objects, cannot be born animate objects. And we all know that's just not the case. And I'm talking primarily of the atheists. The theists believe in nothing more than fairies, goblins, trolls and leprechauns, so for them of course, anything imaginable goes. Sorry Doc! But that is all your 'proof' allows! I hope you do understand what the word 'proof' means. Of course if you don't, I can provide the definition quoted from a dictionary. Just let me know!!! ;-)

My opinion of people is not static, if that were so I would have the same opinion of everyone as I had when I first came to this forum. I am capable of change after long exposure to other's ideas, but those ideas need to be presented in a rational and civil manner, hostility and abuse are a bit of a turn off, but I will "reply in kind" when the abuse is excessive.

I've known Henry on different forums long before I joined this one, and he is one of the few that I would trust.

Well I'm confused as to why you'd allow Dave Mangnall attempt to be condescending towards HC without a word. And then go so far as to defend him.

Whatever! I know I can be abrasive sometimes, but it's always to do with ones argument. I never make fun or ones words they use, unless they're obviously a troll.

And by the way, I used "right" and the question marks as a means to say he wasn't thinking, sarcasm at it's finest!

I think I'm beginning to understand your post a little better, HC is Hobbes Choice, I thought you were referring to Henry Quirk, but correct me if I am wrong. I don't see Hobbes posts when I log on to the site, unless I deliberately click to read the post, so I'm not aware of Dave's attitude toward him because I don't read many of Dave's posts. When I first joined the site, I thought HC was quite reasonable but his hostility started to get to me.

FYI, I don't read everything that is posted, I can be very selective at times, so I might not be aware of everyone's manner of posting.

And if the sarcasm was subtle I might have missed it or misunderstood.

Sometimes things are as subtle as being hit in the face with a sledgehammer and you can still miss them. Still, being on the ball isn't everything, doc, I'm sure you must be good at something.

Doc! You could at least try to sound a little bit offended considering the effort I'm putting into it.

I'm sorry but it's a very bad habit of mine to not be offended by anything. Perhaps you could give me some tips on being offended, so at least I could fake it.

I wouldn't ask that of you, doc, you're already faking enough.

Sorry, I screwed up big time, I DIDN'T mean HC, I meant HQ. Sorry, that must have been some kind of Freudian slip, though I usually don't protect HC, as he's usually an As. Ho..! Right HC??? ;-)

I've always liked HQ's avatar, though I'm a little miffed when he totes around that shotgun, I prefer the spear. ;-)

Yes I know, but with some practice and advice I could fake as well as you.

Yes I know, I'm trying, just ask my wife, she says I'm very trying.
