I read once that it is a bad idea when dealing with people with active hallucinations to pretend that you agree with them, or see what they see, or believe what paranoid thing they believe, as a tactic to make contact with them and, perhaps then, to be able to reason with them and help them get through the episode. Best to say "No. This
not real for all that it seems real".
In my view you have concretized those hallucinations that are part-and-parcel of the biblical stories through your fanatical literalism. You and I both know that there is no way that you'd accept any view or interpretation that undermines the literalness that (as I say) has you in its grip. However, if I say anything about what you believe it is a) to get clear about what I cannot believe and do not believe, b) to state it for the public record for the (potential) benefit of others and c) to attempt to point out how mass hallucinations and mass projection has tremendously consequential effects in our world, and that to understand this better we need to devote time to understanding how these maddened hallucinations are constructed.
The good news: God is ready to forgive and restore, and longs to do so. But Israel must respond to that offer, and rediscover its commitment to HaShem and to the salvation of the world. As the prophet Zechariah tells us,“And I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and of pleading, so that they will look at Me whom they pierced; and they will mourn for Him, like one mourning for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn." (Zech. 12:10)
It's coming. Count on it.
From your (twisted) perspective what you are saying is that Israel must *accept Christ* and the nation of Israel must be converted. You also are saying that, in your view, this conversion-event is right on the threshold and that what is happening in Israel now presages the transformation. Because you are deeply wedded to the Evangelical position one need only understand the *prophecy* that has been concocted about these final wars in order to understand your determined perspectives.
But no
Orthodox Jew sees it as you see it. They despise both Jesus Christ and Christianity and what they are counting on is the coming of a Moshiach-Savior figure who will defeat the Christian nations, restore traditional Orthodoxy, wage war against Israel's enemies, and establish a time of Jewish supremacy. The Edomic nations -- Edom is the nation out of which the metaphysical/physical and historical enemy of the Jews -- Amalek -- came, will all be destroyed, and that includes Europe and the United States. The Dome of the Rock will according to many preaching rabbis be destroyed and the Third Temple will be built and all the old-school sacrifices will be offered again, just as they were before the Second Temple was destroyed and the Exile drove Judea into the Diaspora.
What we see here is one concretized hallucinated structure [the Christian phantasies] that contrasts and conflicts with another concretized hallucinated structure [the Orthodox Jewish phantasies].
It's coming. Count on it.
No, I do not think so. Or put another way what is coming will certainly come, but it will not bring what you are imagining it will bring. I grant that you honestly believe this in the same way that someone in a mental institution who is in the midst of an episode really believes that what he sees and feels is real. But it is not. And the real work is waking up from the strange, dark, twisted and
determining dream.
However, even if that occurs -- in an individual like you or me -- it will not have much effect or bearing on the movement of the mass hallucination which, in my view, must be seen like a giant wave that is gathering force and rising to a crest and will eventually break.
Therefore I think that we need to stand back from what is developing and try to see it from an historical perspective. That means to see it as we might
now see the events that led to the Great War (1914) which occurred with similar unconscious or semi-conscious dreamlike determination. But it is, as most of us realize, an enactment of sleepwalking into disaster.
The horror of the Christian phantasy is that they long for disaster, believing that cataclysm in Israel will usher in 'the return of Jesus' and the beginning of the End of the World similar to how it is presented in Revelations.
What I have to say about all of this personally is that I think all of it, and a great deal of the psychotic confusion of our time, and how people seem to be careening into open states of lived psychosis, is that it is all related to the European 'death of god' event. What that means to me is that one compelling and determining metaphysical story came to an end, but the vestiges of that dying god-concept still haunts our minds. And indeed that terrible figure still appears, like a ghost, among and within the ruins of our own personalities which are tied up in these perceptual (hermeneutic) systems.
In my case, to have encountered a Christian and biblical literalist like you has been a watershed event [turning point, defining moment, pivotal moment, tipping point]. You have demonstrated so thoroughly what it means to be trapped and bound within a Cave of Perception such as that pictured in Plato's Cave. You can only see what is projected, you cannot see what is projecting it! For you *turning around* amounts to the real sin. And fidelity to *truth* means not only keeping your eyes affixed to the *flickering images* but in organizing your rhetoric to influence others to see as you do and also to remain at your level.
But being the recipient of the first blessing, and the rightful testimony to the world, while a privilege, is not a light thing. It comes with a duty to be faithful to that calling. With privilege comes responsibility And if the nation that ought to represent HaShem abandons its role, then it is equally certain that God will have to demonstrate His displeasure with that choice, so as to keep the way of salvation open not just to the nations, but also to Israel.
I suggest that you tune in and listen to the Orthodox Jewish rabbis who are preaching all across the Internet. What you will discover is that they reveal that it is
HaShem who is the author of Jewish persecution. That when Jews exit the shtetl and begin to assimilate and join in with the Nations (the Goyim) in any and all senses, and certainly when they associate and marry them, that the
psychotic fury of Yahweh is invoked. And all the curses outlined in Deuteronomy activate. In fact, and you can verify this, the SuperNova partygoers who were massacred were massacred by Yahweh's decision and consent. Why? Because they do not observe the Jewish Sabbath essentially but because they are veering away from traditional Orthodox Jewish belief and practice generally. And HaShem both allowed them to by mowed down, raped, tortured and all the rest, and
inspired those who did those things.
But what is the cure? That is the issue which is roiling in Israeli culture right now. There is a religious right that is bound up in the belief system that binds you, except that it is the original one and not the deviant one that has you in its grip. Their belief system, in their eyes, cancels yours, and when they enact their theocratic state the Christian will be driven out and killed. To kill heretics is a mitzvah just as, in traditional Judaism it is a mitzvah to wipe out all infidels such as the Arab 'Amalek'
en masse.
So if we are looking for an explanation of what the government and military in Israel are doing, right now, in the Gaza Strip, we need to understand that they are wiping out Amalek in a Torah-allowed and Torah-recommended
genocide.
Torah-inspired genocide is a mitzvah.
That's very easy. Every Jew and every Christian knows the right answer to that one. It's the very meaning of Yom Kippur.
Again, I refuse to participate with you in your hallucinated content. My suggestion is that you wake up from this weird dream! I can once again refer to the metaphor of unchaining your perception from constructed and determined dreams and seeing that even within the metaphor there are all sorts of possibilities. One
can unchain oneself. One
can begin to turn the head around. One
can begin to see *projectors* and understand, pyschically, what these are. One
can at some point actually get up and examine the projectors. And then there is the promise of -- perhaps at some point -- actually seeing The Sun.
