A Philosophy of Mind

The unkindness, anger and superstition in the world would empty out of mind knowing that all one can do in this world is be good. That is the highest of all gifts of humanity.
This is the object of philosophy and which all arts and all sciences
and all intelligences meet in common, and to learn among the elements of knowledge. If ever there were a group among people kind, who could ever communicate their impressions to one another is now.
The philosophic nature well-proportioned and gracious mind will move spontaneously toward the truth of everything who has the gift of good memory, and quick to learn, noble, gracious, the friend of truth, justice, courage, temperance, who are kindred. The god of jealousy could find no fault with such a nature.
The wise and calm temperament, being always nearly equable, is not easy to imitate or appreciated when imitated, especially at a public place when a promiscuous crowd is assembled, they are strangers.

Conceit understands how to belittle every truth and turn away from it and take pride of its mere barren ego. Consciousness, on the contrary, makes the mind for the first time qualified to test what truth is but is incapable of what it wants to undertake. It is a one-sided view of self is what the natural consciousness generally adopts to; which always sees in the result only pure nothingness, and abstracts from the fact that this nothing is determinate thus itself a determinate nothing, and has content. But cannot advance from this step farther, must wait and see.

Consciousness half knowing is half a mind more wakeful than a mind at rest in lullabys of harmony and peace. To admit ideas as more or less useful lies - 'tis conciet to speak of truth, ergo, ego forgone to let reality be truth - than impose our dreams upon it, however good they be - they be but dreams.

Hey Mark Black your just more of the dark sideness what can I say I
aim at absolute truth that is my aim and since this endeavor here is most important to me, I shall not grapple or pull upon mere opinion. For good nurture and education implant good constitutions, and these good constitutions taking root in a good education improve more and more, and this improvement affects the breed in people as in other animals. They follow as the Damon proverb that friends have all things in common.

Barbara,
I've deleted your posting of the PM sent to you. Ask the person before doing such a thing. That is why they are called Private Messages.
Mark,
Apologies, but without the post your's will not make sense(although personally I understood your view).

To be perfectley honest I think Koy owes the philosophy of mind forum an apology he disturbed a erfectly good intellectual conversation with unbelievable burst of foul language onto this forum..
All this breeds when there is no conclusion n the matter people like you.
I personally think it is time for A Moderator to intervene.

Barbara,
I think a moderator just did.
You are allowed your honest opinion but whether Koyannisquatsi makes a public apology is up to him and if others were offended then they are perfectly within their rights to PM him and ask for one. They are also allowed to post a thread about whether he should or not.
What they should not do is post a private message publicly upon this forum without asking the sender.

p.s.
My understanding is that Koyannisquatsi and the Administrator had a discussion about his behaviour and received assurances that such behaviour will not be repeated but if so would result in a ban.

Barbara,
You appear to be of the opinion that someone should have told you about a private conversation between the Admin and a forum member, this is not the case. This thread is not your private fiefdom and your sensibilities, whilst taken into consideration, are not the Admins primary concern.
You also appear to think that others replying to your thread is an attack of some sort, again this is not the case. This is a forum not a blog. As such others are free to say and post, within reason, what they wish upon this thread. Koy was not reasonable, hence his posts were deleted along with others replies.
