This is the problem my friend you actually see yourself as a modern day Socrates.

It appears not to have struck you that no one actually does more than speed read your
remarks thus skipping the labour of thought you put in.
Just imagine what you could achieve in the real world if you put such effort into real things.
Your whole life revolves around a forum with the likes of the people we see here who few would wish to talk to in any real social setting.
The economist John Kenneth Galbraith said on his deathbed "I wish I had drunk more champagne".
The futility of academic life had struck him at his end.
No one is interested in what you have to say here and the one's who do take the trouble to read what you have to say well look at them !
What you are doing is sheer madness and I suspect that you know it is.
And your reason for expending time and energy explaining all this is....what?

What, that he lived a long and fulfilling life and chose the manner of his demise? But nope, I see myself at best as a student of Philosophy and as such I'd make no such comparison.

I think you mean skim-read as speed-reading is a very useful skill. I recommend Tony Buzans book
http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Speed-Readi ... b_title_bk. Many successful people have such a skill and I think it should be taught in education.
Its not labour as in the main it takes very little effort so far as I think it recreation not work.
Just imagine what you could achieve in the real world if you put such effort into real things.
Nice of you to say so but like I say, little effort.
Your whole life revolves around a forum with the likes of the people we see here who few would wish to talk to in any real social setting.
Nah! Most of my life revolves around work, family and friends but there are a few here who I'd buy a pint if they ever make it to London.
The economist John Kenneth Galbraith said on his deathbed "I wish I had drunk more champagne".
Economists eh! Dismal bunch. Luckily I listened to Hume so I will not have this regret.
The futility of academic life had struck him at his end.
Good job I'm not an academic then.
No one is interested in what you have to say here and the one's who do take the trouble to read what you have to say well look at them !
What about them? But I amazed that you think yourself the one to speak for all?
What you are doing is sheer madness and I suspect that you know it is.
Nah! Like I say, its play and recreation for me.

*Choke* *Splutter* Real Ale! Oh Well, I suppose a pint of London Pride or Fullers might go down well. PM when you're about and I'll goggle some Ale pubs to visit. Maybe time it for a philosophynow meet-up or whatever its called, they meet in a pub I think.

Meet in a pub always sounds deeply sensible. Let's set it up!

I think it works perfectly. Both are preachers ,both are neurotic and both are homos.
