Aztec.
Pagan is a pejorative of "country dweller" that was used by Christians (an urban religion of the Roman Empire) to PERSECUTE people who clung to older religions.

You couldn't be more wrong.
The sacrifice is the very epitome of respect for human life.
It is the pinnacle of the assertion of maximum devotion to God whilst giving god the most revered and respected thing in sacrifice- the life a a person.
Why do you think Jesus is a human sacrifice?

the elders of the church want me to do another sermon
i am not sure what i am going to do
also they congregation voted against hiring another pastor since we are managing just fine without one

it is not frequently asked in the american south at least not by the locals the prevailing view is that there are christians and that is all
denominations are not a major concern
anyway
the church is a member of the southern baptist convention
not having a pastor is not usual practice but certainly not against the rules
if I had to label my own beliefs they are more in line with the primitive baptist universalists - sometimes known as 'no-heller' baptists
universalism as i have mentioned is rather more common here than many people realize but tends to stay in the closet and i would like to see that change

I am sure the people at my church read the same news reports about how evil the chinese are as you or i do
i am not sure what a recap would accomplish
the idea of a sermon is to talk about something that belongs specifically in that particular venue
