Nope.

Can't see why I should. You'll just misunderstand it all over again.

Nope.
I'm not saying that is what your argument is, but just what it seems to be.

I can't see why you should, either, henry.

No, I'm not wrong, that really is how it seems.

Your assessment -- how it seems to you -- is wrong. You can have the view if you like, but it's wrong.

How would a deist argue that the right to life and liberty and freedom from slavery doesn't extend to animals as well if, unlike Christians who have religious text to instruct them concerning their use of, and relationship to, animals, the deist has no such instruction.

Where in the deist handbook does it say it is morally acceptable to slaughter animals and eat em?

Hell if I know. I only speak for me, not some generic deist.
Where in the deist handbook
There is no handbook.

I'm going to compromise. I will keep the view, but I'll accept that it's wrong.

**Review of *The Deist Handbook* by Jonathan Ellis**

*The Deist Handbook*, authored by Jonathan Ellis and published by Enlighten Press, is a comprehensive and insightful exploration into the principles and practices of deism. Jonathan Ellis, a respected philosopher with a background in comparative religion from Oxford University, has spent decades researching the intersections of faith, reason, and science. His previous works, including *Rational Faith* and *Beyond Dogma*, have garnered critical acclaim for their rigorous analysis and accessibility.

In *The Deist Handbook*, Ellis masterfully outlines the core tenets of deism, emphasizing the importance of reason, empirical evidence, and natural law. He delves into the historical evolution of deist thought, tracing its roots from the Enlightenment to its modern-day relevance. The book is well-structured, with chapters dedicated to key figures like Thomas Paine and Voltaire, and an examination of how deist principles can be applied to contemporary ethical dilemmas.

Ellis's writing is engaging and thought-provoking, making complex philosophical concepts accessible to a broad audience. He includes practical exercises and thought experiments to help readers integrate deist principles into their daily lives, fostering a deeper appreciation for the natural world and human reason.

One drawback of *The Deist Handbook* is its occasional tendency to overlook the diversity of deist perspectives, focusing predominantly on Western thinkers. Despite this, Ellis’s work stands as an essential read for anyone interested in exploring a rational approach to spirituality, making a significant contribution to modern deist literature.

Enlighten Press has once again delivered a high-quality publication, solidifying Jonathan Ellis’s reputation as a leading voice in contemporary philosophy and religious studies.

I stand corrected. But you know pro was referring to a Deist's bible, yeah? At least, that's how it seemed to me. And there's no such thing.

There is no handbook.
But that said, I was just pranking you. I couldn't find one. Not even a Deism for Dummies.
In such a situation, only BS will do.
