Why put all that effort into presenting your thing as an excercise in perspective only to erupt into a hysterical overstatement at the end?

So large amounts of death does not end life, life goes on. But interruptions to commerce utterly wipes us out?

It's not just about the simple numbers.
Its about saving people that can live as long as they can get access to treatments.
Its about enabling medical services to cope.

Yeah, it is.

Mighta been, ain't now.

Its about enabling medical services to cope.

Not any more.

frankly: I don't think it was ever about savin' people, or aidin' hospitals, but I'm just a mean-spirited bastid, so... *shrug*

Rmember when this excercise was sold as "perspective, based only in the numbers"?
Now having been called out for abusing poetic license, you resort to post-structural Frenchness to support it as some sort of fact.

It's the same trick veritas aquafresh uses when his arguments don't work, so suddenly he switches to trying make some nonsense about "evil DNA" suddenly a matter of philosophical anti-realism. If you are suddenly converted to a consistent belief that there is no truth, that's maybe interesting, but a lot of your previous statements on this forum would need a revisit if that were actually the case. So obviously you only pulled that one out of your ass to avoid admitting that "Life doesn't go on" is not a real fact that you could collect from those numbers, which is kind of lame.

Yep. That's what it was; that's what it is.

Challenge the numbers or challenge the perspective.

till then, have a monkey...

Why ask to be challenged on a subject that you just explain away as you got yours and I got mine?

In light of everything I've posted on the subject and that's your picayune takeaway: Henry is irked about losin' out on some money.

I ain't wastin' my time on explainin' why money isn't even in the top ten of what grinds my gears about this nonsense.

Your actual top ten won't change anything.
People have to do stuff they don't wanna, life goes on. It will end.
People aren't allowed to do stuff they do wanna do, life goes on. It will end.

You can just apply your own methodology from the top of the thread to whichever interruption to normal service you object to and discover that in the grand scheme of things it isn't all that massive. If you are applying an argument that puts things into perspective by applying global statistics to particular objects in order to minimise them, that is something you really ought to think through ahead of time, as the same methodology can in context be applied to your own thing. This being a philosophy forum, you should expect that and prepare for it.

If you just want to vent without applying the same tests to your opinion that you apply to other opinions, that is for facebook. Anyone who permits it here is just bad at philosophy.
