We were saber rattlin'. We -- Sculptor and me -- don't particularly like one another, don't have much respect for each other. We clash. Since we're not face to face and can't whup up on each other, we throw insults.

Alas, Henry's time may soon be limited. Even now plans are being made to bring Henry in front of the Official Board of Educated Elite and face charges for being intolerably politically incorrect. If judged guilty he will be sent off to Timbuktu for reeducation so as to become an example of right thinking through education.

I'm probably one of the educated elite, and I can't stand being politically correct. I taught Jr. HS shop metal and graphic arts and was qualified to teach wood, electricity, and drafting. When I left teaching I worked in a machine shop and a drafting room, at different times, and I found that almost everything I learned in college was wrong.

You probably learned it was wrong because you were able to work with your hands. The hands don't lie while the heart as the justifier of emotional BS does. Unfortunately it governs government controlled education.

That's a good point: some of my most clarifying thinkin' happens when I'm bein'
handy, am laboring (tapping on a keyboard doesn't count, but scribblin' with a pencil does).

I agree Henry. The spirituality of work IMO is underestimated as a human value now that the world has been taken over by computers. Simone Weil wrote:

The benefits of conscious work as opposed to all the emotional reactions normally associated with work is largely unknown in the West

Yep. Working is good for the soul (and the body).

I learned very quick that my teachers in HS and my professors in college didn't understand most of what they thought they knew.
