Yahoo !!
I still can't believe they had the gall to sell tickets to his memorial.
Let's hope the proceeds went to a good cause.

I'd like to think it went to Parkinson's research, or another good charity. But I honestly don't know.

The money is all going to Clay's latest wife -- the cute pale one with the freckles.

Humph. Glad I didn't go.

Well tomorrow will be the funeral, and then float like a butterfly sting like a bee will be gone forever no matter what name he took for himself.
Death is like that. It conquers all living things, whether plant, animal, fungi, protist, or bacteria.
The biology of death is a process of dissolving into pulp stimulated by the cells themselves, which then becomes a soup-like food for bacteria.
The bacteria are the grand garbage collectors of dead things here on the Earth, if the ants and worms (fly larvae) and crows don't get to the decaying meat first.
The odor is horrifying and forces everyone to stay away from the corpse. That's why corpses have been buried in the ground or cremated since ancient times. The Native Americans put them up on platforms so the birds could have at it first.
Thus our biological chemicals all get recycled, either for the benefit of the birds, the ants, the worms, or finally the bacteria.
Proteins are rich in energy and lots of things exist here on the Earth to break these down.
With the complexity, purposefulness, beauty, and continuity of life, it is hard for me to imagine this all happened on its own without some kind of Intelligent Designer. So now we are back to another f@cking thread on atheism from another f@cking thread on Cassius Mohammad Ali Clay.

Yes, I've noticed that.

What is the purpose? How did you discover it? Show us.

and continuity of life,
That's inevitable of any process. When it discontinues, it's not life.

Don't feel too bad. Not everybody has an imagination. Watch
The Nature of Things or
Cosmos - that'll help.

What is real is interesting to me. What people think about what is real is less interesting - without evidence at a real attempt at objectivity. We all know that perfect objectivity is as impossible as perfect anything, but genuine attempts at objectivity are easily discernible once you've been exposed to rigorous, non-manipulative arguments.

A mystic is someone who wants to understand the world, but is too lazy to study physics - Anonymous.
I would add genetics and evolution.

What makes you ass-u-me that I have not studied physics, genetics, and evolution at the college level ??
Do you go through your life ass-u-me-ing everything you come across just because that is convenient for your own lifestyle ??

Greta, until we get spacecraft that can search the entire Universe we will never be able to prove any of the common negatives.

No. Your statement about the intelligent designer is a dead giveaway. Oh, and just for the record, I used to believe the same stuff too so I know exactly where you are coming from. I even came up with a Higgs Boson like field of consciousness which I thought was pretty brilliant at that time.
And I don't understand how assuming your beliefs are convenient to my life style. I don't think of you. That would be creepy if I did.

Well it looks like you assumed wrong.
The issue is of course the First Cause in Philosophy.
Has nothing to do with physics, genetics, or evolution. Your fallacy is called a straw man.
And as for your personal belief, until we get spacecraft that can search every square inch of the Universe we will be unable to prove any such negatives as your mind has hypothesized.

Nope. The issue is your lack of understanding how probability works over huge time spans and your lack of understanding of evolution. If you did, you wouldn't talk about the grand designer.
Also the First Cause is pure bullcrap. You can accept that God is self causal but you refuse to accept that the universe can be self causal too.
And a spacecraft to search every square inch of the universe? In this day and age?? Come on man. Even you can do better than that.

Oh blah blah blah.
I love running into these ignorant philosophy amateurs who cannot tell logic from their own fallacies. Goodbye fool.

Awwwww. You don't like the idea that we have already thought everything that you are thinking now, do you? Now just imagine. Every concept related to God that you come across, every new conclusion that you make, which you will revel in we have already discarded. That must be galling, isn't it? Not good for the ego at all. Specially for those who think they are special and have been created by God personally for a purpose.
Oh, and I pity you if you think this is philosophy. God and religion have nothing to do with philosophy anymore. Why do you think I stick to this topic? I am no philosopher. This crap is all I can talk about. And just like your God delusion, you are deluding yourself if you consider this philosophy. At all.
