Yes I agree, but I'm not seeing many volunteers.

A few years ago I made myself a promise that I was going to be around to change, or at least help change, my granddaughter's child's diaper, so that lets me out for now. (She just turned 6, so you can do the math.)

I'm assuming that she has not needed a diaper for over 3 years?

Yes, about the time she turned 3 she announced that she wanted to start using the toilet rather than a diaper, so all we needed to do was to remind and encourage her. FYI, that wasn't the math I was referring to, I was thinking about how many years it would be till she had children of her own, could be anywhere from 12 (I hope not) to 16, and a husband would be preferable.

I'm hoping for her that the upper limit might be a lot more that 16(+6), giver her a chance to have here own life and vocation. Or maybe she feels that she is not obligated to have any children. Why should she?

I agree and it will be her choice, I don't think she even knows of the promise I made to myself. But I think she is more inclined to be a mother. I know it's not the same thing, but for example, we went into a store and the first thing she did was to say she wanted to go look at the 'girly stuff'.

I believe they over-ran last year's budget and have had to put the galactic bypass project on hold pending a further allocation of funds. There is even talk of an alternative and cheaper route via Betelgeuse V but the gossip is that if they dare to even think about it then that commo bastard Beeblebrox and his tree-hugging neo-Bolshevik mates have threatened to blast the entire Vogon fleet headquarters to the end of the universe with the aid of their infinite improbability drive. It's only a rumour at this stage but I'll keep you posted on further developments.
