What, physically as well as intellectually?
We think we enact things. Do things. Choose things...but in reality those things choose us just as much as we choose them...if not more so.

As it's highly unlikely that man will turn out to be eternal neither will his consciousness.

I think the point of this thread could be interpreted as consciousness as far as individuals is concerned is irrelevant. Consciousness as a whole is eternal...or perceived by man to be eternal.
Consciousness is Plato's light in the cave that casts the shadows. The shadows that we perceived to be real...yet are not.

...it's not necessary that you see a point to this thread...or any other...it's not even important that you see a point to life. That's just the way it is.
