Without *gravity* there isn't *time*.
The *time* ( together with gravity) was created from eternity (T=0K)
according to Einstein's GRT.

Mass is the past holding us relative in the present.
Space is the present moment we share as observers.
Gravity is our outward dilation into the future.

Can time exist without matter?
According to Newton the answer is “ Yes”
According to Einstein the answer is “ No”
Who is right, who is wrong?
=..
Newton declared that time is absolute and wrote that time
“ flows equably without relation to anything external”.
Einstein had another opinion.
He wanted to know:
“ Where does the conception of time come from?”
“ What is the essence of time?”.
To explain these questions he created two theories: SRT and GRT .
=..
According to SRT / GRT time is relative and depends on the mass and speed
It means that different moving mass-bodies can create different time.
It also means that space and time is only a result of some physical process
of moving mass / moving particles. The cause for time and space to be able
to appear is moving mass / moving particles.

Socratus, maybe you could read "Time Reborn" by Lee Smolin. Although it is still based on a little theory of relativity, finally there is a desirable shift here :)
His "hyper Darwinism" might be a more consistent and his non-determinism might be stronger :(

is time in fact a duality inside and outside of c.so outside of c its nonlocality inside c its time local to the event.

Time doesn't exist. It is a relational concept only.
@Sione. K. Palu
=.
How old are you?
The answer is hidden in relation between Sun and Earth.
It means that the time (year) depends on the orbit of Earth around the Sun.
If the diameter of orbit were another the time (year) would be also another / different.

For example:
You are 40 years old
But if the diameter of orbit were smaller then you would be 50 years old
And if the diameter of orbit were bigger then you would be 30 years old

The photon at speed 299,792,458 m/sec has no Time.
The electron in interaction with vacuum doesn't have Time
It means: the Time sends us into an unknown Eternity / Infinity.
1.
What is Eternity / Infinity?
According to SRT the Eternity / Infinity is Absolute Minkowski
negative 4D spacetime.
2.
How can Time arise from Eternity / Infinity?
The local Gravity-time and local Gravity-space arise from
Absolute Minkowski negative 4D spacetime according to GRT.

The photon at speed 299,792,458 m/sec has no Time.
The electron in interaction with vacuum doesn't have Time
It means: the Time sends us into an unknown Eternity / Infinity.
The photon is our ruler, we count its changes as being in space yet unchanging in time, hence the red shift is caused by space expanding. The electron does exist in time we use them in our clocks.
What is Eternity / Infinity?
According to SRT the Eternity / Infinity is Absolute Minkowski
negative 4D spacetime.
Minkowski space/time describes a focal point, +++- or ---+, space and time are different directions of the same thing. Try thinking of time as dimensionless like the numbers themselves, anything you can assign a number to is a separate part of time with its own duration.
How can Time arise from Eternity / Infinity?
The local Gravity-time and local Gravity-space arise from
Absolute Minkowski negative 4D spacetime according to GRT
How long was the duration before big bang? How small was our universe? Eternity/ Infinity directions on a number line.

Or time =something in existance.but that something has to move.
agree . after 40 years studying time. i know a little bit
process is no.without something to process. without mass. 'things' are not and phenomenology. is moot
time is an aspect of reality that has mass .it is not a thing in itself.but a property of circumstance.
time is not a thing,or independent.
who here has not existed and can say otherwise.
there is no thinking about time when your dead

time is not a thing,or independent.
who here has not existed and can say otherwise.
All a clock can do is count its own existence as a clock. Space and time are the dimensions we use to describe the world around us with that said then you may understand why I say my clock does not keep the same count as your clock making them independent from each other in space and time.
there is no thinking about time when your dead
Time does not stop with your death, you just lose the ability to count because your clock is broken.

"you just lose the ability to count because your clock is broken'"
if im dead i never was.
"there is no clock"
[quote]
"you just.."
what.. so you know oblivion
when you are dead will reality be? or is reality a fiction for we dolts to ponder on before we go bye bye [unreal]
philosophy[history] touches this here and there.

Time does not stop upon your death, you do.
prove it.
you may say ridiculous and stupid. as i did.
but, prove it. for proof Mr Potter is in the realm of the living.
"Time does not stop upon your death, you do".
very true and i post not to be an ass but to push the edges of thought.
i came her years back with easy stuff , saying i was running on 2 to 4 cylinders of the v 16
now i run all 16
As a conscious being. Death or non existence. requires a position.
I ask, when i am no more . will the land of living be? Or did it exist as a titanic construct of mind. That as time works all Will end in non existence.
time.
The hollower. eater of black holes. time the process of matter.
I ask not what time is. but why the process it is happens ..
why not stasis? why not nothing?
This Potter, is the trick

again with dimensions. when time is no such thing. Is gravity a dimension? then why do you call time one . Gravity requires extension and mass
as time does.
why is gravity not a dimension..? conditioning by British high school system?
