As for the quote function, you might not have realised that the system only accepts 3 nested posts. When a really juicy conversation if going on this is simply not enough, so it is better to use a different colour so as not to use up all the generations of replies. Not only is it clear and visibly better it is far less clumsy.

Interestingly enough, that is the point that got me objecting.

At the stage where I have to read it a few more times before I could comment as I'm not sure of the point its trying to make as he doesn't really define the issue nor his solution I think, although reading lancek4's replies here may help clarify what he's trying to say.

Not sure I'd call it an essay but maybe thats to 'academic' of me, although I do appreciate that work was put into it.

It struck me that his understanding of philosophy is too idiosyncratic to be meaningful, and his conception of it is more like religion, perhaps?

I could be wrong but socrates suggests that philsophy shows one how to die, and thus how to live.

Yes Im thinking that perhaps i should re-categorize my essay by "creative writting", but I call it philsophy because I can back up my ponts. But i cont do it now, becuae I just did for an hour and it logged me off when i summitted it so it was deleted.

It is true that there is ONE Platonic dialogue in which Plato describes the manner of Socrates' death, but I think it is a long stretch of the imagination to use this one example to characterise all philosophy. The other famous death of a philosopher that springs to mind is that of Hume. But as far as I remember David Hume did not pen a single word on how to die. For the account of his excellent death we have to turn to his friend Boswell.

Or buy a MAC. Then all you have to do is hit the BACk button and then save your text.

Maybe its Safari that enables this. But since I bought a MAC I have never lost any work
