Did you outgrow toy cars and airplanes also? You must be very fit to walk long distances...
Cars and aeroplanes were part of the real, adult world, whereas we knew that guns were just part of the fantasy world of cowboys and indians, and the war films we watched. I suppose those who hadn't got guns out of their systems by the time they grew up were the ones who joined the army.

Actually, the more you say about guns, the more suspicious I am becoming that you are mostly talk, with not much behind it. I'm starting to wonder if you are a bit of a fantasist, yourself.
Maybe he enjoyed playing cops and robbers so much, that he thinks it's the only reality, and doesn't seems to realise he's an adult now, and adults usually act responsibly, knowing the difference between childhood games and real life. He doesn't seem to understand that we need to have cars and airplanes, otherwise we'd all be confined to living under just one roof, so to speak, we would never have spread ourselves so wide and far as we have done without them.

So comparing cars and airplanes to guns is just completely daft. But then the brainwashed people do tend to be a bit daft, it's the only way they know how to make sense of their world I suppose, by believing they are not safe in their world without the protection of a gun, and they call that Love because mummy and daddy had guns and so it was normal for them to have guns as well, they couldn't find it in them to break the brainwashed cycle of monkey see monkey do brain dead mentality.

Brainwashed people are daft.

Thy've been brainwashed to treat some tools (cars) differently to other tools (guns).

That's not an issue according to Skepdick. He has no problem with himself or with other human beings and their unpredictable behavior, that's why he needs to own a gun.
This whole discussion relating to the need for more guns and personal gun ownership, is according to Skepdick just a silly game of splitting hairs.

He has no argument at all, his attitude to those opposed to gun ownership is blasé and just an irrelevant unimportant issue to deal with, and is why America will continue to play the fun game of ''shoot-em-up'' as if their country was just one big super sized fairground where people are free to entertain themselves by actually playing the game of cops and robbers, cowboys and indians for REAL. Forgetting that they are not children playing with toys anymore, and that people actually die for real, not pretend to die.
Arguments are for philosop... err, I mean children in playpens.

Grown ups don't have to argue when there's centuries of evidence contrary to their feelings.

Grown ups also settle for pragmatic solutions like "Why not put armed guards in schools?
LOL
LOL
LOL

And it is this kind of completely and utterly STUPID thinking WHY some societies ARE SO completely BEHIND, AND going BACKWARDS.
Skepdick wrote: Thu May 11, 2023 7:20 am That's cheaper and far more likely to work in practice than trying to ammend the constitution, trying to usurp 250 years of history and disarm 300 million people."
SO, we come BACK TO the love-of-money, ONCE AGAIN.

Also, IMAGINE NOT WANTING TO CHANGE the VERY 'thing' that is KILLING and MURDERING 'one's' OWN CHILDREN, of ALL 'things', JUST BECAUSE 'it' is miniscule in 'age' and BECAUSE doing so would 'cost' a LITTLE BIT of 'money'. Which would probably be a miniscule amount compared to what is ACTUALLY spent on war, weapons, and all of the health consequences following on from those two 'things'?
Skepdick wrote: Thu May 11, 2023 7:20 am It's Children who prefer idealism like "TAKE ALL THE GUNS AWAY!"
And it IS "IDIOTS" who think or BELIEVE ABSOLUTELY ANY one has SAID 'this' here.

By the way, if 'this' is what children REALLY prefer, then 'that' SHOWS and PROVES just how MORE mature and grown up 'they' were, then adult human beings were, back in the days when this is being written?

It's true. Some societies are trying to go back to the 13th century. Back to a world without guns.

What's worse is that those regressive idiots think they are being progressive.

I will gladly live in a society where I don't need a gun.
I refuse to live in a society where I am not allowed to own one.

Now don't go putting word in my mouth again. I never implied the act of self-defence is my idea of love.

It's not what I would call love if I had to fight another person to the death, just so I would survive.

My definition of love is to not fear other people to the point that I have to kill them to ensure my own survival in the first place, surely if we are going to fear each other then that fear can only incite more hatred, not love. Hating on others is not my kind of love...but you are welcome to have your own version of love of course, that's your prerogative..

What else are the gun toting adults to do with their life, other than to continue to play out their beloved childhood memories for real.

Carry on, it's your funeral after all. But some people around the world have moved on, they have matured and and grown up, they no longer feel the need to play out their childhood games anymore on the real stage of life where toys are not toys anymore, they are real deadly intimidating weapons of mass destruction.
If that's how you feel about it - so be it.

My guns are weapons of love.

I'd kill if you ever hurt or endanger those whom I love and have undertaken to protect ;)

'This' REALLY WAS just how GREEDY, SELFISH, and 'self'- CENTERED a LOT of adult human beings REALLY WERE, BACK THEN.

At least this 'one' did NOT SAY that 'it' WOULD KILL you if you just TOUCHED 'its' STUFF. But who KNOWS 'it' may well COULD do that as well?

And as for 'weapons of love' this is how DISTURBINGLY DISTORTED some adult human beings had become.

The Sculptor has posted a rather fascinating pic of gun-related deaths. The author, sensu latissimo, is a remarkable individual.

Hey Jim, this may be the guy we're all looking for!! Get a load of the poster he made!!

Hmmm. Well, I'll be damned! You be right! Off we go to Birmingham then.

Yeah, off ... off ... we go!

And some adults became so distirbingly distorted they were incapable of violence. Even on the extremely rare and unfortunate occasions when the need arose.

And they lauded their passivity as moral virtue.

Such are the comforts and complacencies of living in a society built by other people's sacrifices.

LOL 'you' CONTINUALLY MISS THE POINT here "skepdick"? Or, 'you' just PURPOSELY 'TRY TO' DEFLECT as 'you' LEARN or SEE and UNDERSTAND just how STUPID and IDIOTIC your CLAIMS ARE here.

There is NO need to so-call 'outgrow' cars and airplanes as these 'things' are used for transport. Whereas, there is NO real USE for guns or weapons OTHER THAN to just KILL or MAIM "one another".

Which IS OBVIOUSLY some 'thing' that would have been MUCH BETTER of 'outgrown' AGES AGO.

And, WHO is going to 'protect' 'those', FROM people like 'you', "skepdick"?

If that kind of scenario is prevalent enough in your country to be treated as a significant possibility, it is truly tragic.

Skepdick wrote: Thu May 11, 2023 9:00 am So you wouldn't defend that which you love? Even if protecting your loved ones requires taking a life?
My loved ones can protect themselves...but obviously, I need to protect those who I am responsible for by keeping them out of harms way.
I have been a parent to my own children, but I've never once needed a gun to protect them. I live in a part of the world where we do not solve violent threatening behavior with gun usage, we do it using the powers of mature and sensible verbal reasoning.

I love myself, I never once in the face of my own threatened to death life experience, when I was suddenly confronted with a fully loaded shotgun pointing at my face thought about arming myself with a gun in case it ever happened again. My responsibilty is to love myself, and not carry the intent around to harm others in some kind of constant state of having an irrational fear of them harming me first.

If we all loved ourselves, why would we ever think for one minute of harming another person in the first place. People threaten us because they lack the capacity to love themselves first, it seems these death threatening people have no sense or idea of what love means, it's as though love is somehow totally absent or lacking from their lives, so they become bullies as a way to regain a sense of self importance and power, they have only imagined they haven't got, maybe because they have believed someone who told them they were unlovable and unworthy of being loved or something. It's as though they have to defend themselves in the form of taking on the mentality whereby their only option is to take away someone elses power to experience love, instead of just taking responsibilty to learn how to love themself without the need to take it away from someone else by killing them in a selfish act of resentment and hostility because they believe they have got something, that they haven't, and it's as if they take on a revenge mind set...this is not my definition of love.
