Are you saying there is no God, Hobby, or simply that you don't believe in the distinction?

It does not matter is I believe in god or not. My chance of knowing what god is supposed to promise is as good and valid as any priest.
Its not god making any promises. The "religion" in the mouth of the priests is making the promises. Only a fool thinks otherwise: so there is no distinction.

Yes, Hobby, it does matter whether you are claiming a personal belief or claiming an objective fact, because there's an important difference between those claims and that is what I am discussing with you.

Are you saying there is no God, or simply that you don't believe in the distinction between God and the human beings who are chosen to preach the word of God?

My chance of knowing what god is supposed to promise is as good and valid as any priest.
Not if the god that the priest serves exists.

"God's promises" are the same as the promises of the priest. There is nothing outside the mouth of the priest.
What do you mean "god"?

There is if God exists.

Do you deny that God exists?

What do you mean "god"?
For now, I just mean the entity (or entities) that the priests and their followers believe in and call "God".

I don't know what you mean by the term "god". Are you blind or are you wilfully missing the question?

I think you are trying to change the subject.

Are you blind or are you wilfully missing the question?
Are you blind or are you wilfully missing the answer? For now, I just mean the entity (or entities) that priests and their followers believe in and call "God". Do you deny the possibility that any such entity exists?

Unless you can tell me what you mean by "god" then I can't begin to answer such a question. The question might as well be "Do you deny the possibility that the blugblatter beast of Trall exists". It's irrelevant, and empty headed.
Priests say what god is, priests say what god promises. There is nothing more to say.

You think there is more to say. You go on to say that the promises are false. How do you know that? Why do you say it?

No priest is in any position to make any promises.

But God is, if she exists. Do you know the promises are not God's?

Do you know the promises don't come from such an entity?

What should religion be based on? "The Ouzo Prophecy."
