I'm in favor of equal wages for the same work, for educating women, and for women's health. I think women are precious in the sight of God, too, just as a man is.

I'm still waiting for the Christian coalition to admonish George Bush (who, if I'm not mistaken, was largely supported by them in the election against Gore) for invading Iraq resulting in the deaths of thousands of men, women and children (mostly Iraqi) who had nothing to do with 9/11. I'm sure they suffered much more profoundly than a bundle of nerve cells (and what not) that may well just be exhibiting little more than early human instincts and reflexes. I find it much more likely that a fetus is not much more sentient than many species of fish might be, we kill fish and other seemingly sentient beings every day by the millions. We don't kill each other because quite frankly none of us want to be killed ourselves, though going through basic training in a military boot camp seems to largely remove that inhibition.

All I'm saying IC, is that even the existence of God doesn't prove that my life has some more intrinsic value to God than perhaps other sentient creatures do. It would fit very well with what I have seen of the world we live in. People die. We sometimes die horribly, we sometimes die less terribly. We kill each other and being a Christian doesn't seem to protect a person from bad fortune any more than not being one as far as I can tell.
