Come now, let us gently reason with Bill. "Sweet sir, we will say to him, "what think you of things esteemed noble and ignoble? Is not the noble that subjects the beast to the man, or to the god in man? are not the ignoble that which subjects the man to the beast? If undetected you will only get worse. Whereas those who are found out and punished has the brutal part of their nature silenced and humanized. The gentler elements liberated in them and the whole soul are perfected and ennobled by the acquirement of justice, temperance, and wisdom. More than the body ever is by receiving gifts of beauty, strength and health, in proportion as the soul is more honorable than the body.

Barbara,

What is this all about?

What a feeling of oppression hovering over the philosophy of mind, with a post that is unmovable. I do not see this in other forums. Why is this?

You call what you do philosophy I it call photography not philosophy so why are you here maybe you should stop taunting the forum and join a photo forum?
I do not see anything funny about beating a horse or being meaningful, if you don't like what I write don't enter here .

Also, it would be nice to hear your philosophical thinking. You get away way innuendoes, mere allusive hints. So what makes you valid here and have the ability to threaten me over what have I never done to you?

"Action have consequences a victim attacked and driven into alien and distant ends." What are you going to do about it meat beater?

I don't feel like I'm attacking you...

I think you are correct upon your attacks upon me.

Please keep it up and please be more specific.

Thank you Barbara.

Thats because you do not understand that pictures are ambiguous as to the posters meaning and can cause confusion as to their meaning.

Actually - just the opposite.

Images are NOT ambiguous.

I want the reader to interpret the meaning of the images that I use EXACTLY HOW THEY SHOULD.

Feel comfortable in yourself and how you interpret any of the images that I use.

Let go!

Enjoy - and feel confident in yourself.

If you think about it, most of us do not understand fellow members and their views when using words - our literal images.

And no one seems to care or even notice.

So do not worry about your interpretation of my images. I use them in hoping to get the response that you receive. It's Okay.

In that respect images are even LESS AMBIGUOUS than words.

OK. Now everybody, get back to the back-biting and sniping!

So what you are saying is your posted images have no meaning to you. That explains a lot.

Actually, more correctly, I or anyone else here can post literal messages that the readers, like yourself, could totally misunderstand their intended meaning. For instance, my post above...You almost totally missed it, yet I was using words.

And then again, I posted an image in addition to the words above and you accepted that. You were totally Okay with that.

And I am satisfied with you reaction to that image. I've never questioned your interpretation of that image.

Relax...I will get you through this thing.

Although you tend to use them very badly. I understand that you think that your images raise thoughts in others minds. The point I am making is that you are selecting them, so what criteria are you using? If you are using no criteria then what point your images? If you are using criteria then you would find that in a philosophy forum concise words will get your message across in a clearer way.

No, I just ignore them.

What interpretation? What was your intent in posting that image? If you had no intent then what point your action?
Relax...I will get you through this thing.
What thing? What is it you wish me to get through? Why would you think I'm not relaxed?

GREAT questions!

I appreciate everyone who has participated within my posts upon this thread. I was able to explain and accomplish mush more than I could ever have dreamed of when I first began to participate here.

I would like to thank Barbara Brooks for starting this thread.

All the good to you!

 I think you'd better try to get your thoughts in order before you attempt such a thing. For example, you are still promoting this left/right brain idea in a naive and meaningless way so LMAO at your "magic circle of philosophy" or is that  at the ridiculous connections it makes. As it makes a mockery of all that philosophy was and is. But I can understand how it makes the unphilosophical feel better about their philosophical laziness. For example, you say your criteria is to raise thoughts in others, if so then any picture will do but then you say you select them to get your message across? Which is it? And what message? To have thoughts? We have those already thanks.

"I was able to explain and accomplish mush ..." Never a truer word.
