I live in a European country that has a long history with Russia, not interested in writing all down how my ideas developed.
What country is that?
Let's just say that for others to understand my "political" mentality I'd have to explain the combined effect of about 6-7 major factors, and the US and Russia/SU are just 2 of them.
Which reminds me. I don't really consider political and social stuff to be part of Philosophy with a capital P, but that's all that this forum is about anymore. I should waste time on something else I guess. Ah shit I have to continue refurbishing my flat. Must.. stop.. procrastinating..
From my perspective when I read what you write I have the impression you explain nothing, you don’t develop your ideas. The simple question about location — an answer could have no effect on you — goes unanswered.
Let’s just say: you don’t have much to say.

What would I get from explaining myself to someone dead inside?

Quotes from the man who is putting an end to America's meddling in international affairs.
Asked
if he would rule out economic or
military coercion to gain control of Greenland and the Panama Canal, Trump said, “I’m not gonna commit to that. No. It might be that you’ll have to do something. I can’t assure you — you’re talking about Panama and Greenland — no, I can’t assure you on either of those two.”
“I think we're going to get it…
One way or another, we're going to get it.” he said of Greenland
Chinese Embassy in the US: "If war is what the US wants, be it a tariff war, a trade war,
or any other type of war, we’re ready to fight till the end.”
heh
Trudeau said Trump is trying to prompt "a total collapse of the Canadian economy" because he thinks that will "make it easier to annex us".
heh
The Trump administration has rejected a long-awaited plan for the reconstruction of Gaza endorsed by Arab leaders, saying the president stands by his own vision which includes expelling the territory’s Palestinian residents and transforming it into a “riviera” owned by the United States.
heh
Trump: "We have accomplished more in 43 days than most administrations accomplished in four years or eight years, and we are
just getting started"
Now obviously the only way to make so many fundamental changes in so little time is if he and his team have absolutely no idea what they are doing.

Now the Western establishment will push the UK prime minister to become the "leader" of the West (with the French president as his sidekick), instead of the US president. Last time this was the case was nearly a century ago.

Those who have a history with Russia, have a better understanding of the situation.
The US is an ocean away.
That's an argument for the US getting out of the conflict. If you're saying, "you're an ocean away," and "you don't have a proper understanding," then that would imply the US is in the wrong place, behaving in misguided ways, and should extract itself -- in fact, it should probably never have been there at all.
And I'd agree with that totally.

If all the countries hit by Trump's trade wars retaliate, could that collapse the US economy?

Here you have actually said something!
Te aplaudo!
Because the topic then, according to you, is precisely what that
deadness is. Who is dead? Dead in what sense? Why? How did this come about?
You have defined a
platform. Now you have to present your case.

The trade war issue is one likely above my pay-grade. Is it possible that it might function to bring businesses back into the US? Since a great deal of US suffering has been caused by corporations and manufacturing moving their operations to China (and Mexico, Vietnam, etc.)
And who
really cares? The New York intellectual class?
Isn’t the “MAGA” platform that of restoring American manufacturing and economy? Shouldn’t that be a universal political aspiration not a partisan one?
That Canadian weasel put on a fine show of direct talk to “Donald”. It was even somewhat admirable.
The Mexican president (this is merely an aside) speaks Spanish with a Chilango accent which I find irritating, but that’s neither here nor there …
They say Mexico is a “narco-state” so it is hard to know how to respond to her use of the word “sovereignty”. But ok …

It can have multiple functions.
Induce American companies to manufacture in the US.
Induce American companies to harvest US resources.
Force Canadian companies to relocate to the US.
Force Canada to drop some of its protectionist policies.
Weaken Canada so that it can be annexed.
Weaken Canada so American companies can invest in Canada at bargain basement prices.

You forgot, "Induce Canada to ship less fentanyl and fewer migrants over the northern border." That seems to be the main purpose.

That's just a pretext so that Trump can apply tariffs while claiming not to be in violation of the CUSMA free trade agreement.
