Neither are you qualified to talk about these things. You are just repeating what someone else has said, and then told you about it, which you believed in.

The picture you are attempting to paint here, is not the thing. You might as well be painting (OUR) words as if they were made of watercolour paint written upon a flowing river.

All illusions.

The world needs people like me, and it's a tragedy that I am the only one.

For all intents and purposes you, and we, must believe he believes in his relationship to God.

If you ask me to make statements about the core truths of Christianity I will say that I have grappled with them and do grapple with them, however I do so through my “metaphysical” means. But I can say this: When I read the Gospels I am distinctly aware that an intelligence therein (or behind if you will) is communicating to me. This all fits in with, or I fit it in with, my understanding of a quite profound statement made by William Blake in a poem:
A poem is seen as an image in imageless seeing, else the image would not show. But the image is not the seeing..aka the ( silent imageless witness) aka no thing.

There is no metaphysical reality, that's purely a concept known, as seen through the images of letters forming words, forming poetry. The image is not the thing. The thing is not even the thing, because things have no consciousness to be aware of themselves, they are simply images of the imageless, in this unwritten, no thing.

Same applies to the speaking of words...all words spoken are illusory manifestations of sound, heard as words. Which are believed to be real, but are not since the image is not the no thing in which the image is seen. Seen images, cannot see, or know anything.

Since intuitions of the physical world are lacking when we speculate about what lies beyond, metaphysical knowledge, or knowledge of the world outside the physical, is impossible.
There is nothing outside of human language that can be known, human knowledge can only point to the illusory nature of reality in that it is unknowing, not-knowing.

All you have are false beliefs to believe in, because a belief is just an association with thought which is overlayed upon this unknowing not-knowing, to appear as actual knowing. However, the world of conceptual appearances come and go..while the actual real world does not, the actual real world is the witness of the world, not the world of conceptual appearances...as the image is not the no thing, in which the thing arises, albeit illusory since the image of a thing, is not the thing..it is no thing.

From belief to clarity.

You have a doppelganger i Hoboken, New Jersey. He's retired. Sometimes he reads novels, but in moderation.
Otherwise he is exactly the same as you.

Well that's three things we have in common: We are both retired, we both read novels in moderation, and one of us lives in Hoboken. That's pretty remarkable. Can you get him on the phone for me, please?

It's difficult to be humorous and deadly serious at the same time, hence why the "woke" religious movement isn't funny.

Do you remember when SNL Saturday Night Live used to be funny, back in the 90s? Me too... the era of comedy seems to have come and went.

Laughs are more 'forced' these days; everybody has their guard up. This defensiveness throughout the population is part of The Decline.

It could be a "decline" or it could be a call to get to work and change our direction (edit: For the good of ALL of us).

I agree. Good times don't last forever. Eventually you have to work for it again.

It's not as if the "left" were ever the problem here.
It's right-wing forces that moan most about woke but are themselves far more censorious.

We learn today that Utah schools have taken The King James Bible off the shelves for containing sex and violence. Laws enacted by ultra-right antiwokers.
In Florida we see a teacher under investigation for showing a Disney film to her pupils. Apparently one of the characters is a bit "gayish".

Really its the rancid old terfs like Veg we have to worry about

And here was I thinking you had me on your ignore list. So chuffed that you read me
Actually it's misogynistic old farts like you that we have to worry about. Women's rights are none of your business. You don't have to worry about predators and fetishists making you unsafe. It's not men's sports that are being hijacked by greedy cheats. You probably hate children and never had any so you wouldn't give a shit about them being brainwashed and mutilated. You aren't gay, so the fact that children who would likely grow up to be healthy gay adults are now being fed the nonsensical lie that they are in the 'wrong body' and are getting pumped wth hormones and later mutilated isn't something you give a flying rat's arse about. The 'genocide' that 'trans' dramatically keep screeching about is actually happening to the gay population. It's the ultimate homophobia.
There is nothing 'right wing' about me and you know it, so you might as will give up your disingenuous, wokie, lying bullshit. Women's rights and child protection don't belong to a particular 'wing'. They are completely separate from that. You might as well say that the suffragettes were 'right wing'. Ridiculous, self-serving garbage.

This is why so-called 'pro trans' like Sculptor refuse to debate this topic and resort to tired, stock insults like 'old terf', 'right-wing', 'fascist', 'nazi' blah blah blah. It's because they don't HAVE an argument. They don't have science to argue with. They don't have logic to argue with. They don't have human decency to argue with. They don't have anything but vitriol and tantrums. What the fuck is a 'trans' anyway? Eddie Izzard? Eddie Izzard should be allowed to play in women's sports teams and shower with them afterwards? Eddie Izzard should be allowed to use women's toilets and any woman who objects should be charged with a 'hate crime'? If Eddie Izzard rapes then he should be put in a women's prison and his rape recorded as a 'female crime'? Eddie Izzard is 'vulnerable and maginalised'? 'Marginalised' by whom? How? What does 'marginalised' mean? Can anyone seriously tell me that they think of Eddie Izzard as a woman-- and a lesbian woman to boot?? Give me a break.
The so-called 'trans rights' movement is dripping with misogyny. It doesn't have a clue whose 'rights' it's referring to, which is why the acronym just keeps growing. What does some misogynistic male predator who only wants to access women's spaces have in common with a vulnerable, attention-seeking teenaged girl having her healthy breasts lopped off? Or a little boy with a homophobic father and munchausen by proxy mother who is terrified that he might end up gay because he likes to play with dolls so convinces him that he's actually a girl in the 'wrong body' and gets him 'gender affirming 'care' ' instead? How is that child the same as a man who is mediocre at best in men's sports, then 'decides' that he's actually a woman and goes on to demolish and humiliate women in their own sports and win thousands in prize money??
What are the 'rights' that 'transpeople' don't have that everyone else has? Has anyone else noticed that they NEVER say? What do they want?
No so-called 'terf' (nasty, meaningless bs term. Why would it be 'radically feminist' to stand up for women's rights??) has EVER said that people shouldn't be allowed to dress as they want, call themselves what they want. This fight only started because the rights of a large percentage of the population were being trampled on by a very tiny percentage who were demanding rights over and above what the rest of the population has.

The MOST VULNERABLE people in society are chlldren. By a mile. Next are the very old/disabled. After that would be women. Men who like wearing women's clothes are way way further along the spectrum, especially as they can turn back into bog-standard misogynistic men at a whim when it suits them. Actual women don't have that luxury.

None of this is hyperbole. This is happening right now.

Keep posted for the sudden, baffling spike in violent crimes, including rape, committed by 'women'. Cue the highly paid 'experts' called on to work out the cause of this 'mysterious' new phenomenon...
