You should give them a try if you have enough free time and you like books or films. I don't know how old are you, I've grown with videogames, but there are lot of them not difficult to play, whith wonderful stories. You get more intro the story when you are playing it, there are lot of videogames with moral decissions etc, and of course, most of them have a story longer than a film (you can be talking about more than 80 hours). And good music too:Walker wrote:About all I know of video games is that they exist.TSBU wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNGbpldBJUI

Love Debussy. Especially this piece, among all:TSBU wrote:

Funny thing is: the first time I listened to it, was a screwed up horrible version by Tomita, but there was "something about it".
That's one of my favorite Debussy pieces, too, but the Tomita version is probably my favorite version of it.Conde Lucanor wrote:Love Debussy. Especially this piece, among all:TSBU wrote:

That's one thing about music: a function derived from the pleasure of associating a particular piece with moods or events in our lives. It doesn't have to be "great music", as long as it triggers the nice feeling. I think it's not the only and necessarily the most important function of music, but a legitimate one.Terrapin Station wrote:That's one of my favorite Debussy pieces, too, but the Tomita version is probably my favorite version of it.
Of course, part of the reason for that might be that I grew up in Miami, and I was a regular "Jack Horkheimer: Star Hustler" (aka "Star Gazers") viewer. Jack Horkheimer was an astronomer at the Miami Space Museum/Space Transit Planetarium, and he did these little 5-minute daily (?--well or at least 2-3 times per week I believe) astronomy updates that aired right before the TV sign-off late at night (if you're old enough, you'll remember that TV stations weren't always 24 hours. They used to sign off around midnight and sign back on at 5 or 6 a.m.). Anyway, Jack Horkheimer used Tomita's version of Debussy's Arabesque No. 1 as his theme music, so that version of the piece has really strong nostalgic associations for me.
