Why is because the IDF are currently targeting and murdering journalists who disagree with Israel.
Today my partner attended a Vigil for Dr. Refaat Alareer. He'd studied and got his Masters in out local university, in English Literature and after attainting his PhD in the East returned to Gaza to teach English Lit, with his special love of Shakespeare.
Soon the death threats came from the IDF, like they now have for so many other journalists.
When the final call came telling him that today was the day, he fled his school to protect his students and was killed the moment he got home by drone strike.
So far 70+ journalists have been struck down by this method. The IDF want them to know. They wish to silence their voices. So that fear spreads to those that would pick up the story of what Israel is doing..
After receiving death threats from IDF, Dr. Refaat Alareer wrote his last poem..
If I must Die,
you must live
to tell my story
to sell my things
to buy a piece of cloth
and some strings,
(make it white with a long tail)
so that a child somewhere in Gaza
whilst looking heaven in the eye
awaiting his dad when left in a blaze-
and bid no one farewell
not even to his flesh
not even himself-
sees the kite, my kite you made, flying up above
and thinks for a moment an angel is there
bringing back love

I think the fact is, most people accept that Hamas cares less for Gazans lives than even Israel does, so nobody bothers making any demands of them to begin with.accelafine wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 12:09 pm If those wankers at the pro Hamas Nuremburg-style rallies in London really 'care' about Gazans so much, then why aren't there any signs saying 'Release the hostages'?
