Cuz we've allowed ourselves to be hoodwinked by an industry that promises cures for every woe. A pill for what ails you; a therapy for what's got you down. As I say: this industry assigns incapacity, or creates it (or reframes harmless idiosyncrasy into sumthin' malign). And they do it for a buck. They farm miserable people like cows, for milk and meat.

These do-gooding nitwits have done more harm than most people imagine (clearly, since whole populations have bought into the bullshit). Think about the 'day-care satanic ritual' hysteria of a couple of decades ago, perpetuated by sociopathic do-gooders who didn't have a clue what they were doing, and have never apologised to this day.
I was reading about a dangerous paedophile and murderer (who actually murdered someone I knew) the other day because I was wondering if he was out yet (our sentences for murder here are pathetic) and apparently at the parole hearing he was told that the only thing standing between him and being free was his lack of an acceptable response to 'counselling and therapy' regarding the murder. So in other words if he lied to the 'therapist' and knew all the 'right' things to say then he would be out-- that's how much power those fools are given. The fact that he is an idiot who isn't clued up on the 'correct responses' is the only thing that kept a dangerous murderer from being released after only twelve years. He's probably out by now though, with a new identity (they kindly get given these), and living next door to someone (perhaps someone with children).
He was, however, given credit for attending a 'sex offender programme' (because sexual deviancy can be cured by a bit of 'man-hug time'
