3. Liberals want to encourage that condition.
Facts, eh? Then you will be able to cite your sources. Who did the research? Which journals published the findings?
There are no sources. He is making it up.

Was somebody trying to use an email forum to "help" you, in some way, DP? That would be silly. It's just a chat space. We're discussing a philosophical issue here, a matter of ethics and realism. That's all.
So why were you knocking 'liberals' for pretending to care, when you clearly couldn't either? Or is it just the facade of caring that bothers you?
Meanwhile, nobody even mentioned your name, so far as I know.
Veg did. And it was in relation to our previously good online relationship. I certainly never did, and I have no idea of your personal inclinations -- nor a desire to prize them out of you.
Anyway, if you're not interested in discussing it, there's no one forcing you to do so, so far as I know. And if you do wish to discuss it, then you can. That's the limit of it, really.
You have already stated you believe gender and body dysphoria to be a mental illness, though dysphoria itself refers to unhappiness, and unhappiness with anything is a personal preference, not a mental illness. Not much left to discuss after that pronouncement.
I do appreciate you wishing to stay out of my business though, and not asking me to 'drink drano and die, pansy'. Hehe.

It's a bit of a giveaway when the religious insist that scientific theories, the big bang and evolution in particular, are based on faith. I can't help thinking that in terms of brain circuitry it is either religion, or irony; it is rare to find both in an individual, as the claim that science is undermined because it requires faith doesn't appear to trouble the religious.

These guys are not Jews.
It's only his theory. There are so many bizarre conspiracy-type theories surrounding jews. I take no notice of any of them. As far as I've seen his 'theory' only gives the nutters more fuel. I'm not sure what those photos prove. They don't look much like Dustin Hoffman.

No one looks like Dustin Hoffman.
Koerstler was not a crackpot BTW.
The point is that Jews show a massive genetically variation, but nonetheless do not look much like anyone from ancient Israel. Their claim the the land fails on several counts; not less that it is basically a British imperialist invention.
Do Jews even look like TYPICAL jews?

Gender dysphoria long pre-dated doctors.
So did mental illness...but I notice you don't mention that.
I need to disagree with both of you here, there have been individuals who have known about different healing techniques as long as there have been humans, and long before that. Actually both healing, Gender dysphoria and mental illness have existed since before humans evolved so there is no real way to say which came first, or if they both developed together. The only way either of these statements can be true is with a very strict definition of "doctor". If you allow that an individual who knew something about healing techniques could be considered as a doctor, then you must understand that such individuals have existed for as long as there have been individuals.

Well it's there, and it's not going anywhere. Modern Israeli's aren't responsible for past British imperialistic arsehole-ness.

It's amazing how many people call themselves Christians yet behave very un Christ like. I may not hold with Christ as the son of God but I don't have a problem with "Christian Values" but Christ wasn't a smug bastard who enjoyed patronising and trying to belittle people so why do these characters feel entitled to associate themselves with him? If it turns out that we do all have to face a judgement day I think a lot of these so called Christians will have more to feel nervous about than most of us atheists.

Are you claiming this of all the religious, or just the ones that you have encountered?

I hung the shingle that way, as 'a' preceded 'j'. But I can deal with variation.

Wrong. Go back to page 1.

You simply won't find more reputable sources.

John Hopkins is one American source. And we all know how sexually uptight Americans are in comparison to the rest of the world. So you can put all the weight you want on this. One American study speaks to... one American study.
