Got to be honest with you, and I have covered this before within this thread, I don't really brag.

I feel uncomfortable talking about myself or what I would consider to be accomplishments.

Whatever I have done; whatever I have experienced, is just fate. Period.


That's kind-of the point of this thread. Ego.


Ego is like a shell that covers & protects us.


Richard Rose used to pronounce ego as egg-o because of it's characteristics.


People lead with what their ego wants you to see or perceive. It's a natural defence that appears as an offense.

Thus, when you first meet someone and perhaps say, Tell me a little about yourself...

Well, they are going to respond, I raised four beautiful children, or I closed big deals at IBM, or I flew a Black Hawk helicopter for the Marines, or whatever you perceive to be as your most positive accomplishment.


What I am recognizing is that our self...our true selves is an observer. Consciousness.

We do nothing. All these things that we have done, in reality, just happen to us.

We are the observer - unfortunately the observer that becomes emotionally attached to the observed rather quickly into our existence.


So, that's what I meant when I created this thread, Lies About Your - Self.



The thread never really took-off for everyone here is so frightened of each other. It's a pretty acidic community right now...for whatever reasons.


I'm just amazed...You guys hide behind phony monikers yet you are soooo frightened to even have that phony character to be slighted even in the most minuscule of ways...

None of which would be lies unless the person didn't really raise four kids, doesn't really think they're beautiful, didn't really close big deals at IBM, didn't really fly a Black Hawk in the Marines, etc.

Maybe you had something else in mind other than "lies."

I doubt we'll ever know, because part of your defense is that you won't directly respond to anything. You'll just post a picture or an animated gif or a quote or something instead, or go off on some other tangent.

My aim wasn't that my comment would be about your "point."

My aim was to note that people saying something about their beautiful kids, their IBM career, etc. isn't a lie (just in case they have the kids they say they do, etc.). So if you weren't changing the topic with respect to "Lies about yourself," those wouldn't actually count as lies. If you were changing the topic, that's fine, but why not start a new thread?

Because you are so blinded by your pet theories you are incapable of hearing truth, which, given your claim to this Rose character is an irony in itself don't you think. So once more for the deaf, the avatar you see I started to use after years of having no avatar and using my real name at the end of my posts. Why did this avatar come into use here? Because I joined a facebook charity thingy that involved picking your favourite cartoon character and the fog was mine, when the thingy was over it dawned upon me that the chicken's(although its a rooster really, which is the joke) pose was much like the thinker and the irony of the fog was too much to avoid using for a while. Why I keep him is because I realised that numbnuts like you read psychology into such stuff and try to use such guff to insult me which I find highly amusing. Now I don't doubt that many spend time picking an avatar that does reflect or support the nik that they use and one might be able to read something into it but in my case its a laugh, not least because my nik is also the product of circumstance with little to no forethought, which makes it even funnier when such as you tries to attack that as well.
