You could so easily have just accepted that criticism was valid Bob. It could have just been "oops, I didn't think about that". You didn't need to be a sulky childish peon.
If only you weren't a raging narcissist.

Did you mean Bill? As I can see how easy it would be to confuse them.

People only share lies when they tell about their past...
Lies that they themselves to believe or lies they want us to believe.
I'm more interested in the lies we are living now...

Appreciate everyone's' good content. Just want to insure that we stay on topic of this important philosophical thread.
Thank you in advance.

Got to be honest with you, and I have covered this before within this thread, I don't really brag.
I feel uncomfortable talking about myself or what I would consider to be accomplishments.
Whatever I have done; whatever I have experienced, is just fate. Period.
That's kind-of the point of this thread. Ego.
Ego is like a shell that covers & protects us.
Richard Rose used to pronounce ego as egg-o because of it's characteristics.
People lead with what their ego wants you to see or perceive. It's a natural defence that appears as an offense.
Thus, when you first meet someone and perhaps say, Tell me a little about yourself...
Well, they are going to respond, I raised four beautiful children, or I closed big deals at IBM, or I flew a Black Hawk helicopter for the Marines, or whatever you perceive to be as your most positive accomplishment.
What I am recognizing is that our self...our true selves is an observer. Consciousness.
We do nothing. All these things that we have done, in reality, just happen to us.
We are the observer - unfortunately the observer that becomes emotionally attached to the observed rather quickly into our existence.
So, that's what I meant when I created this thread, Lies About Your - Self.
The thread never really took-off for everyone here is so frightened of each other. It's a pretty acidic community right now...for whatever reasons.
I'm just amazed...You guys hide behind phony monikers yet you are soooo frightened to even have that phony character to be slighted even in the most minuscule of ways...
I'm just an average guy but being compared to you here at The Forum I look like a fuckin king. Weird.
Your attachment projects the protective characteristics of your ego onto the cartoon characters that you festoon yourself to here...

None of which would be lies unless the person didn't really raise four kids, doesn't really think they're beautiful, didn't really close big deals at IBM, didn't really fly a Black Hawk in the Marines, etc.Bill Wiltrack wrote:Thus, when you first meet someone and perhaps say, Tell me a little about yourself...

Maybe you had something else in mind other than "lies."
I doubt we'll ever know, because part of your defense is that you won't directly respond to anything. You'll just post a picture or an animated gif or a quote or something instead, or go off on some other tangent.

You're missing my point. I appreciate your response but you missed the actual focus of my above post.
I suggest you re-read my post above. Just think a bit about it.
If your perspective does not change there is no need to reply further...

Re: ~ Lies About Your - Self ~
My aim wasn't that my comment would be about your "point."
My aim was to note that people saying something about their beautiful kids, their IBM career, etc. isn't a lie (just in case they have the kids they say they do, etc.). So if you weren't changing the topic with respect to "Lies about yourself," those wouldn't actually count as lies. If you were changing the topic, that's fine, but why not start a new thread?

Me, I'd say "What do you want to know?"

Lotta words...lotta bullshit. Sounds like you are trying to protect something or fool someone.
Either change your moniker; use your legal, god given name or not.
Don't try to justify fear...or you will NEVER OVERCOME it.
Just sayin...

It's really pointless talking to Bill.
He doesn't get anything other than himself (and that part is a lie).

That you have a seven second attention span explains your response to a paragraph. The bullshit part is just your incapability to understand anything out of your personal bubble.Bill Wiltrack wrote:.Lotta words...lotta bullshit. Sounds like you are trying to protect something or fool someone.
What is this 'god' you keep fraudian slipping on?Either change your moniker; use your legal, god given name or not.
Not, will be the answer, As unlike you I have others to protect and support and in this digital revolution that you yak on about the first thing employers do is goggle you.
Not scared Bill, just have other priorities that override interweeb self-aggrandizement.Don't try to justify fear...or you will NEVER OVERCOME it.
And from where you are its very easy to say.Just sayin....

You're a 60 year old stay-at-home mom.
When you DO work you're like an Uber driver. WTF?
Look, I was a construction worker WHILE I posted here & many other forums. ALWAYS used my legal name. I had to get jobs using different employers all the time.
That's all I can tell you. There is nothing to fear.
Actually, now I prefer you to continue to do as you are. It shows who you are.
So again, I don't want to talk about this any more...& congratulation you successfully de-railed another one of my threads by talking about you...YOUR misunderstandings. YOUR fear. So, good for YOU.
