Please quote your source for that claim. You forgot to provide it.

It doesn't even really matter, though, because your argument is pure ad hominem. The question is not whether or not you like C.S. -- it's whether or not his claim is true.
I am not quoting anybody, Immanuel. His claim that people are either saved or not saved is ridiculous. Christian doctrine needs reformation ; psychoanalysis shows that there are natural causes of sins . All people should be included in salvation.

People reactively want to avenge wrongs. However Christianity will not be a civilised religion unless reason is its guide.

Oh. So you just made it up? You shouldn't slander people, then.

To censure an idea is not to censure a person who holds the idea. It's really important that we communicate objections to ideas .
Slander is a crime and carries a civil penalty. You have made a false claim against me, and I suppose I should submit the matter to the moderator.

I have profited from these conversations with you but now I am finished with you.

You haven't shown that C.S. held the idea. You claimed he did, but that's not proof he did.

If C.S. Lewis never claimed not to be a seeker, why did you insist he did? And if he held it, and you know it, why not quote it?

Already done.
Or maybe it takes me back to the days when as a devout Christian myself, my own commitment to Christ prompted me to proselytize whenever I got the chance. Admittedly, I drove some family and friends up the wall…
“There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, "Thy will be done," and those to whom God says, in the end, "Thy will be done." All that are in Hell, choose it. Without that self-choice there could be no Hell. No soul that seriously and constantly desires joy will ever miss it. Those who seek find. Those who knock it is opened.” (C.S. Lewis)
Okay, please note the substantive and substantial evidence that Lewis accumulated himself in order to establish and to demonstrate the existence of the Christian God. As I recall, he was a "strident atheist" until Tolkien changed his mind: https://youtu.be/awp8LNEB3X0?si=rfhoEpPIqAawZ34J

The parts rooted existentially in dasein.

And again, what of all those millions of men and women who don't choose Christianity simply because they have been indoctrinated to believe in another God? or they have never even heard of Christianity? Do they get an automatic "get Out Of hell Free" card?
Immanuel Can wrote: Wed May 21, 2025 4:21 amYou get to choose the disposition of your own soul. Not even God Himself will deprive you of that right. Make your choice.

Come on, IC, aren't you depriving any number of posters here who are not Christians but, like me, are genuinely interested in being saved? You could choose to invite them to explore the videos with you. You could note the particular segments that most impacted your own thinking.

Instead, you simply brush all that aside. You go up into the spiritual clouds and, as with Will Durant's epistemologists, pursue God didactically.

I understand. Hell, I truly do wish at times I could "somehow" keep a fractured and fragmented iambiguous out of my own head. :!:

So, anyway, grow a pair and get back to those here you might actually be able to save with those videos.

Note to others:

Should he ever attempt to bring those videos down to Earth, please link me to it.

You should remember that. It would save you from being ad hominem...which you were.
Slander is a crime and carries a civil penalty.

I don't think C.S. will sue you, though I suppose he could, if he were alive.

I'd not noticed it before, but old Clive Staples was an all too typical damnationist wasn't he? Scratch all Loveless Christians hard enough, hardly at all in most cases, and they blame us and forgive God's uselessness.

After Martin Luther and the English translation of The Bible , earnest Christians had to choose between fundamentalism and heterodoxy.
BTW I hope I don't appear to be so very earnest in real life.
Thanks.

You appear a just fine answerer according to faith here Belinda. Luther was an appallingly ignorant loveless unenlightened man. Not his fault. No renaissance man he. The Reformation follows. Fundamentalism is the default.
