I love symbols because they're so meaningless, but everybody, and I do mean everybody, gets so taken up with them. Which reminds me of another symbol of the American Energy Party. It is a circular logo that looks like a cross between a Mercedes-Benz logo and the Eiffel Tower. In other words, it's three circle segments within a circle. It often has a baby gorilla sitting on the lower circle with his hands on the upper circles. The baby gorilla is a mascot like the Republican Party elephant or the Democratic Party donkey (AEP becomes ape).

I'm glad you asked. The Champagne Sherry Principle for winning political elections is to get people to vote for you and not the candidate. Basically, going to the polls and voting is a waste of time since it has absolutely no effect on the outcome of an election. On the other hand, it is absolutely essential to get people to vote for your candidate in order for him to win. The Champagne Sherry Principle says that to resolve this conflict, each member of a political party must provide constituents with governmental and other non-material help throughout the year, and in return, only ask them to vote for his candidate at election time. If necessary, party members may have to figuratively drag voters to the polls to ensure their votes, but it will be difficult for voters to refuse in light of developed friendships. In a way, it's like buying votes, which is illegal, but the results are the same, and no money or material benefits are ever exchanged. The Champagne Sherry Principle gets its name from a Homecoming Queen election at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. A girl named Sherry was one of the candidates, and her boyfriend dragged me across campus to vote for her (her posters showed Champagne glasses and bubbles). She did become Homecoming Queen, not because of my vote, of course, but it does demonstrate the principle.

Obama is the victor.

Saw it on our news this evening. A local pub packed with Americans drinking Australian beer, celebrating his win. It was great to see. When interviewed a guy said he was surprised and pleased to note how much interest Australians have in U S of A politics. He is right. They are interested and I for one was pleased Obama won, no doubt there will be a few here that don't agree.

Anyway three cheers for Obama, Hip hip hooray.

Why cheer Obama just because his socialist programs have yet to bring us to our knees like the rest of the world?

Democrats: you wanted him (again!); you got him (good luck with that!).


Republicans: pick 'better' next time (good luck with that!).


Third Party Folks: trumped by one of the Big Two (again!)...you're fucked (good luck with that!).

Austerity is fucking with the economies of Europe.
Despite that Romney was full bore prepared to bring austerity and asset stripping to the US economy.
Americans made the right choice.

Assuming it needed repair, such corrections happen among and between actors in the market (individuals). The communitarian impulses (of Dems or Repubs) channeled by way of elected (and, appointed) office certainly influence such corrections, but those impulses do not dictate such corrections.

If America's economy was/is wanting, it'll be repaired (or, is repaired) by way of individuals transacting with one another, not because any particular person (or party) holds power.
