Re: Who has a philosophy degree?
Ay, got a pretty nice one also. I sold my scooter as well as using some accumulated money to buy a real power entartainment laptop, that was some time ago though, couple of years, before I left my parents home in a sudden drastic change of life.
When travelling I also use public computers. Norway got even free laptops some libraries which you can borrow while in library. France also got their "Mediatheque"'s, where you can listen to music free, borrow movies free, read books free and use computers free, depending on city and region (the same thing as in Norway).

Wow, didn't know pictures had THAT big a power ^^ wonder how people are gonna see me different now then ^^ or if I changed it to Aristotle-bronze-statue.chaz wyman wrote:The reason you were getting flattered was because of your previous picture. Changing that will change people's outlook of you.
Your previous image made you look like an angry disabled person, maybe with MD, or MS.

I'm thinking of changing my image from a self-righteous haughty philosopher to a cute kid.The Voice of Time wrote:Wow, didn't know pictures had THAT big a power ^^ wonder how people are gonna see me different now then ^^ or if I changed it to Aristotle-bronze-statue.chaz wyman wrote:The reason you were getting flattered was because of your previous picture. I'm sure John often gets an easy ride due to his teddy bear.

Angry gamer pointing condescending finger proclaiming the beholder of the picture a "noob!", crazy look on his face and eyes, distorted by Photoshop surely.chaz wyman wrote:PS- What was that picture you had BTW?
This new one is me trying out my accumulated outfits from travel, activism and self-exploration. Taken from my FB-profile.
I did notice myself not being able to take Arising_uk too seriously, not because of his persona but simply because of the angry cartoon-chicken in his avatar. You kinda expect the chicken to just be cartoony in its behavior, that is, kinda being absurd, and so anything the cartoon-chicken does is pretty harmless.
Buhuuuu! You're taking it back!reasonvemotion wrote:and......... never take too seriously what is said.

but I did it out of habit... Yes I know, may be woman, but speaking of people as "it" doesn't fit, and writing "he/she" or "she/he" all the time is tiresome. But I'm often a good boy and say "she" as well or just she! This was a he-case.

LOL................ Big boys don't cry.
there was a dispute about his sex, some time back. Spheres and myself thought he was a woman, but then there are times when I think I may have been wrong.
Chaz and artisticsolution say man, they have known him longer, I guess they are right.

Re: Who has a philosophy degree?
Never had the time to grow up and become a big boy, too busy doing other stuff, like philosophy (they say a person is born or go through a philosophic phase in their early life... I never got out of it).reasonvemotion wrote:LOL................ Big boys don't cry..
The chicken looks very much a he, though, actually, looks more like a rooster. But who knows! Maybe he/she will one day expose, him-/herself as a transvestite ^^ "Oh noes! We all got it wrong!" And the world goes under... meanwhile, I just got an appetite for some chicken
EDIT: I did see the movie "Boys Don't Cry", pretty awful movie, you really want to cry when watching its terribleness. Boys (boy-like girls also) certainly do and need to cry some! And that includes "big" guys like me. It's healthy you know? Lack of expressing emotions is dangerous business, better to get all your sensitivity out the communicably expressive way!

I saw it too. I was wondering if you would recognise the title. The most tragic element of all was, it was a real life story.

Re: Who has a philosophy degree?
Kidding me? I didn't know! Thought it fiction ^^ well then that brings an adjusted view on it. I grew up on a farm with all kinds of people with problems at home or in their minds/sociability (my mother runs a place taking people from the child protective service, which is much more active in Norway), some even rape-victims, and it truly disturbs me such psychological movies full of hopelessness... I hate hopelessness, truly, I loathe it, that's why I never take a defeat as a defeat, only a indefinably temporary set-back...reasonvemotion wrote:I saw it too. OK while we are on the subject, let me remind you never to see, Savage Grace, Julieanne Moore, a true story, but some of the facts are distorted. It was, I think, the most disturbing movie I have seen.

Thought about watching the movie, but reading about it I kinda never got the need to see it ^^ let me remind you not to see Pain Olympics or A Serbian Movie, I haven't seen either but their description and reception is enough, and I have friends more curious than me.reasonvemotion wrote:OK while we are on the subject, let me remind you never to see, Savage Grace, Julieanne Moore, a true story, but some of the facts are distorted. Psychologically the worst movie I've ever seen was "Antichrist", especially because my first and to this date only sexual full-package was with a schizophrenic bisexual girl who reminded me a little too much about the female character in that movie...

No one can tell for certain without a DNA test. But I am pretty sure he is a guy.

One of the few movies that I walked out on: Saving Grace
Not due to content but I thought the script was poor and the actors hearts were just not in it. I did not think they found their own portrayal convincing.
The only other one I walked out on was the Woody Allen one Match Point. The scenario was poor; Jonathan Rhys Meyers was just too gay; the plot was out of date in class terms; and when the ghosts started to appear I thought that was enough.
