Actually, you can...as in the case of Terry Schiavo. Here we have legal precedent that it is actually lawful to kill a human being. And popularity wasn't even an issue. Half wanted her to live and the other half wanted her to die. She was killed by starvation. It took her 13 days to die.
Your response to the above sentence by using Terry S as a case in point is a complete travesty.
Her death was based on the judgement that she was not technically living, and it was the fact that someone
did indeed care for her that her 'life" was allowed to come to an end.
Oh - and you cannot die of starvation in 13 day - so you might want to revise your idea about the manner of her end.

Chaz...you jump to too many conclusions. Where did I make a judgment value? You just read it as such. So, you think it was merciful to kill her...big deal. That tells us nothing other than your opinion.
Here is the thing, we both agree she was brain dead right? Those are the
facts right? So what the fuck difference does it make if she is put to death or not? Why does it matter if by being dead she will have the same non thoughts as being alive? So it isn't a "travesty" to put her to death or keep her alive. The rationale that those "who loved her" put her to death (or not) is merely based on
feelings. It is your opinion and your "opinion" is no better or worse than mine.
And another thing...for someone who puts an awful lot of time in this forum negating the existence of a God, you sure do speak as a theist. Only theists think we go on to a "better" place when we die. So why do you think Terry would be better off dead than alive? Maybe you should think a little about that. I said it once and I will say it again about you....Onward Christian Soldier....
Also, they removed her feeding tube...that is the only life support she was on. Now, you may be correct that she died from something else as the starvation may have caused other things to shut down in her body....but the fact is...she would probably still have been alive if the feeding tube was not removed.

Ok what I should have said a healthy human individual with some sort of mental life even if of a relatively low level; which she wasn't.

You are talking tosh. Please read back and see what you responded to. Maybe you made a genuine mistake?
You responded to the idea that a person was 'not cared' about.

Terry S WAS CARED ABOUT. So your whole discussion was irrelevant.

There is nothing 'merely' to be said about the feelings of the people who cared for her. There is nothing more important to ethical issues than feelings.
Consider your own feeling were a person you loved in the same position. Maybe you would truly not give a fuck is s/he stayed on a life support machine forever?
And another thing...for someone who puts an awful lot of time in this forum negating the existence of a God, you sure do speak as a theist. You are an idiot. Human feelings about life and death predeced Xianity, and will continue long after Xianity is finished like all religions. You can be quite a stupid arse at times.
But this cold hearted bitch we see here is new. Do you have the painters in?

You are making this shit up. It is not possible to die of starvation in 13 days. Think about it!
