To be clear, it seems to me that the Russian and Iranian governments are not good governments that ought to be forcibly spreading their influence around the world. However, should we be forcibly spreading liberal democracy and our influence around the world? Or should we let other peoples decide for themselves what they want for their own government? For example: Is the Chinese way of government "their way" of doing things that should be respected by us? Or should we be in favor of democracy in China?

There is a strong element of hypocrisy in these actions.

ICE thugs in the streets of US good, Islamic police thugs in the streets of Iran bad.

Elections manipulated in US good, elections manipulated in Iran bad.

US nuclear capability good, Iran nuclear capability bad.

Etc

Is this an analytical argument or a continental discussion in philosophy?

Does it have to be one or the other?

I prefer the analytical tradition. Continental philosophy seems more like sophistry to me.

My argument has been analytical philosophically.

Is it a sound argument, though? Or what is your argument other than "realists" believe in "conflicts" but not "war"?

That's okay, he'll still have the Nobel Peace Prize gifted to him by the Venezuelan opposition leader - María Corina Machado - shortly after Trump bombed her country and kidnapped its president.

Plus, I'm sure that the newly established "Board of Peace" will create and bestow upon its founder and leader (Trump) a new and better (more bigly) peace prize.

And people will say...

(people such as John Barron, and John Miller, and David Dennison, to name a few)

...that no one is more deserving of it than the self-appointed Chairman of the "Board of Peace" who, by pre-emptively attacking and declaring war on Iran,...

(because Iran was trying to develop weaponry to defend itself against imperialistic bullies)

....but, more importantly, it will be an accomplishment in the realm of "showbiz" that would have received viewer ratings that would have been the highest ever recorded...

(the likes of which the world has never seen before)

...had anyone been left alive to verify that record.

*(First and only recipient of the yearly-awarded "Board of Peace Prize" because no one else could possibly do anything that could out-peace (top) the peacefulness by which the Chairman of the Board of Peace does peace.)

_______

Ah yes, more "necrotizing karma" headed towards America to hasten its collapse.

According to Google's AI Assistant...
According to Iranian state media and local officials, the death toll from the strike on the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls' elementary school in Minab on February 28, 2026, has risen to 165 people....While the exact number of schoolgirls among the dead has not been independently verified, reports indicate the majority of victims were female students between the ages of 7 and 12.
Never wonder why America is circling the drain.

Great, all that will accomplish is stoking the Iranian people against the US, clamoring for their government to procure nukes. Negotiations are probably now impossible. Trump is a worthless piece of shit. The jackass should be tarred and feathered and run out of D.C. Fuck Trump!!

President Donald Trump or the conflict with Iran is what you dislike? Ius in Bello, "And fight in God's cause against those who wage war against you, but do not transgress limits, for God love not transgressors" (2:190).

Is there anything to like about either of those (Trump or starting a "conflict")?

I'm sure everyone and their brother on all sides of the front line "fights in God's cause". Everyone has been "fighting" in God's cause since the beginning of time. Just ask them. They'll all tell you they fight for "God's cause".

(For God's sake the Nazis had belt buckles inscribed with the words, "God is with us"! Is there anyone one who doesn't fight "God's cause?")
