Please quote with backup facts and how exactly they relate to the meaning of the word 'bigot' (whatever that is). Thanks in advance. Oh, and don't forget to define exactly what you mean by 'unreasonable'ThinkOfOne wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 1:25 amBy the "the fact of [your] having and expressing strong, unreasonable beliefs and disliking other people who have different beliefs or a different way of life". Based on this thread, evidently Americans can also be added to the list.accelafine wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 1:19 amHow exactly am I a 'bigot', American genius? Not sure why you've bought into AF's nonsense in any part. Bigots are not rational. As such, all their bigoted claims should be viewed with extreme skepticism.
From the Cambridge Advanced Lerner's Dictionary which is a British publication:
In the 17th century, bigotry originally referred only to religion, the word changed its meaning over time in both the UK and the US. Languages evolve. Words evolve.
Word meanings evolve, yes, but that doesn't mean losing all meaning altogether, and if they do then they are obsolete and no longer fit for use.
