As I say: RED MAN DEFIANT can't lose as long as he continues to put American interests -- as defined by *Americans -- first.

*specifically: the 74 million who voted for him. It's pretty clear RED MAN DEFIANT, along with that 74 million, doesn't give a flyin' fig about all those who voted against him or who didn't vote at all. Compromises, accommodations, dialogue, meeting in the middle, and reaching across the aisle: none of that flies any more.

As for the Futurist: He doesn't give a flyin' fig either. When advertisers threatened to pull dollars, the Futurist told the lot: Go fuck yourselves.

All the others: weasels lookin' to avoid bein' stomped on by RED MAN DEFIANT ('cept for Gates who's too busy perfectin' space umbrellas and vax-transmittin' mosquitos to give a sparrow's fart).

Not convinced. I saw a video of him being interviewed about he recent damage to Tesla's value, and it looked as if he was on the verge of tears.

I take no pleasure in that. He is a genuinely innovative businessman and his two main ventures - Tesla and SpaceX - could in their different ways transform humanity's future for the better. Unforutnately like many geniuses he is very erratic and has become very distracted by his involvement in Trumpian politics.

It's not quite one guy callin' all shots unilaterally. True, there are large questions on the table about what the exec can and can't do, what the true extent of his constitutional power is, but this is not unique to RED MAN DEFIANT. The party out of power always tries to rein in or neuter the opposing exec thru the other two branches and the court of public opinion.

It's a great unruly circus that, in the long run, doesn't mean nearly as much as some folks think it does. I mean, sure, if the circus is the source of your bread & butter, it's all very important...to you. If you're deluded and believe the circus truly is the beginning & end of all things, it's all very important...to you. Everyone else, we let ourselves get caught up in the sweep of it, the crass spectacle of it, but -- at day's end -- we know it's mostly entertainment...like sports ball.
