Note "every time" [no indication of stopping] which imply eternal and the point of eternality is supported by loads of text in the holy book.

You can make the simply inference, i.e. from the obvious eternal life in paradise, so is it eternal torture [as a threat] in hell.

It does not mean that it is eternal. It does not say eternal.

The default belief is 'hell in eternal' but there are others who may argue against that by twisting words from the verses.

Will the torment of the people of Hell in Hell be neverending, or will there come a time when it will end?.
The people of Hell will remain in Hell being tormented without end. This is indicated by a great deal of evidence from the Quran and Sunnah.

Generally, yes.

If a single soul were to suffer punishment forever, that wouldn’t that constitute a teleological failure on the part of the god who created that soul?

Time is a byproduct of the expansion of this universe.

In other universes, our own time is meaningless. It simply does not apply. That is the better interpretation of the term "eternal".

Eternal is never an infinite amount of time. There is no actual infinity in our universe. It cannot exist in other universes either. Otherwise, such other universe cannot be a universe.

Infinity is, however, a quite reasonable description of the gap between the times (and distances) between two universes.

For example, for the natural numbers, additional non-standard universes are defined by injecting infinite cardinals into the interpretation of arithmetic theory.

If the physical universe is structurally similar to the arithmetical one, then reaching heaven and hell -- as alternative non-standard universes -- is also achieved by the injection of infinite cardinals.

Hence, the gap between these different time systems would indeed be infinite.

In other words, eternity does indeed describe the gap between two universes but not the time within one.
