What does it mean to be a self conscious animal?

For all things philosophical.

you 'human beings' are made up of two things; visible bodies, and, invisible thoughts and emotions.
That's correct.

I'd say the invisible visible. The unknown known.
Well, again, there is actual Truth in this. As the 'invisible' is actually visible with the Mind's Eye. This Eye is what can, and does, 'SEE' all, and thus is what also 'understands' all, and thus is HOW the (One and only) Mind, Itself, 'knows' ALL.

The difference between the animal 'human' from every other animal is that the human animal has the ability to learn, understand, and reason absolutely any, and every, thing.

No other animal has this ability.
Ok.

To know you are aware, requires two things: subject and object. The subject being the thinker, (invisible) and the object being the 'thought' ( also invisible)
Which is what, more or less, 'you', the 'person', and (human) 'self' is, exactly. Invisible 'thought', and, invisible 'emotions', that is. Which, by the way, all of, are only 'aware', and 'conscious', of some things, only.

But, which are best never ever mistaken for the One and only True and Real 'Self'. Which is Aware, and Conscious, of ALL things.

( Who am I ? ) cannot be answered; since there is no one, or thing, asking the question.
Are 'you' able to explain WHY there 'has to be' some one/thing asking 'the question'?

And, also why 'you' say and claim that there is no one, nor thing, asking 'the very question', which 'you', "yourself", just asked?

There’s no you claiming there is a you claiming there is no one.

No one ever asked a question. The illusion that someone or something is asking a question is just what’s happening and nothing is making what’s happening happen.

If you are conscious you are conscious then you are trapped in your own horrific horror story of your own making.
