Jesus christ. When will all these morons take a few introductory courses to the most general/abstract fields in Mathematics.

Start with an introduction to topology so instead of blabbering on about "space and time" (in particular) they can actually understand the abstract idea of a "space" in general.

And after they have some of the basic concepts etched into their idiot-philosopher brains wreck their inherent reductionist tendencies by focusing on point-free topology so they stop talking about stuff like "fundamental particles".

Atomism is dead. Can we move the fuck on? The representation/model/theory/map is NEVER the reality.
You are another one who did not pay attention to the video.
In the first 20 minutes, Hoffman condemned reductionist theories from atoms to quarks to spacetime.

Idiot, it's not what he condemned. It's what he forgot to condemn.

Consciousness. Experiencing. Fundamental laws. Theorising itself.

All of those words are connotational baggage with zero denotation.

Moron. His very premise in the opening of the video is dubious.

"On the one hand" and "on the other" he is conceptualising explanations as an antimonies.

Any two things you call "explanation" necessarily share some semantic property. Otherwise you wouldn't call them by the same name.

He is DOING reductionism while atacking it.

Poor VA, he doesn't realize that many of his posts have quoted and/or linked to science that uses reductionistic models. Even holists use reductionism. Reductionism is limited, but then any tool/model/paradigm will have it's uses and limits.
