And what sin did you commit in a past life that made you come back as a boring imbecile?dattaswami wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 11:53 amok then what is your point?Maia wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 11:50 amI'm not trying to.dattaswami wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 11:31 am

Reformation is a golden opportunity given by God to us. It consists of three steps. The first step is related to knowledge. It is realization or jñāna yoga, which is identifying the sin through analysis. The second step is related to emotions and it involves sincere repentance before God with deep devotion to Him, which is bhakti yoga. The third and final step, is the practical step of karma yoga in which you should not repeat the same sin in your life. Many fail in the third step. It is of no use because the third step is practical and the first two steps are merely theoretical. A person can be said to be reformed only when he does not repeat the sin practically. Some clever people try to exploit this concept thinking that they will reform their souls, just before death! Such over-intelligence brings double punishment as no one can cheat God since He is omniscient!vegetariantaxidermy wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 11:57 am

The point is that those who come out with this rubbish have probably never even spoken to a blind person or asked them for their opinions on the subject.dattaswami wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 11:53 amok then what is your point?Maia wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 11:50 amI'm not trying to.dattaswami wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 11:31 am

I'm sure you know this, but I felt compelled to say it in the thread. DS is generalizes incorrectly about the blind. In response to you pointing this out, he accuses you of generalizing. And as you later point out, he is generalizing with less experience than you about the subject.Maia wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 11:50 amI'm not trying to.dattaswami wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 11:31 amOk it may be true for one or 2 or few blind persons. He doesn't appear the slightest bit interested in learning anything, either.Iwannaplato wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 3:07 pmI'm sure you know this, but I felt compelled to say it in the thread. You inserted the part about accusing.
I was not generalising, and was very clear that I was talking about myself.Walker wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 7:07 pmYou inserted the part about accusing.
- Maia in fact was generalizing about what all blind people think about their blindness.
- Dattaswami is also generalizing, however the difference is, he does not deny it.
- Maia did.
- He offers a basis for his generalizations.
- His basis is how he interprets Hinduism.
- Maia’s basis for generalizing is her personal experience.
- The only accusing going on is in your own noggin, and you are projecting it onto dattaswami. Quite tiresome of you. You're not dealing with children.
