Completely irrelevant, but I knew an old preacher many years ago who used to say:

"The automobile has divided between the quick and the dead."

Living is a glasses we choose to wear to forget things in order to have a sense of wonder.

Oh, really? I thought you had to be alive to form desires, objectives, ends and purposes. In order to be alive, certain needs must be met at regular intervals. If you have some alternative method, please share.

"Completely," is reserved for absolute references.

Relevance is found in, or linked to, the pre-cognitive commonalities that are inherent to human nature.
(Call it the water part of the broth flavour)

An aside to that is the influence of nurture that folks often mistake for, "choice."

Consider: the FBI employs clever people who can identify a stranger based on the stranger's "unconscious," choices.

No sir *.
Not that.

Suffering results when an attachment ends, not by "choice", despite the desire that it not end.

Be it loss of home, or a beloved person or animal, or a precious possession, or a belief, or a delusion, (or a thread!), the suffering that follows the loss is caused by ... ignorance.

The ignorance is caused by emotionally (feelingly) attaching the quality of permanence, to what is intellectually known to be impermanent.

* Addressing you as sir,
which is the feeling to do,
speaks to the best in me,
to reach the same in you.

Not everyone who is alive desires to remain alive. Where have you been?

Only those who desire to live, achieve, and be something need anything. Those who have no desire for anything, need nothing. What would they need it for?

Living is merely a series of fulfilling of needs. Desires are a luxury.
Where there are no desires, there are no needs. Desires (objectives, goals, ends, and purposes) always precede needs. Where there is no desire, and nothing is aspired to aimed at, nothing is needed. The individual who desires nothing, needs nothing--something is only needed as a means to some end. Nothing is needed if nothing is to be achieved.
When only one thing needs to be achieved, then the achievement of that one thing is all that is desired, and all actions point towards realizing that achievement.

Thus, all desires coalesce into that one desire, and all life force naturally directs towards that achievement.

Some needs of the individual, and society, require that singularity of focused energy.

*

After that one desire has been fulfilled, it's all gravy.

I think it depends upon what is meant by "living" and what is meant by "desires". Some differentiate between "needs" and "desires" and some differentiate between "living" and "just existing".

Really? Examples abound.

How about, the need to stop an invader from slaughtering.

Stopping invaders from slaughtering is something you personally need?

If that's what you want, I suppose you need it, and I hope you get it.

After they've died, they will have no needs. Until they get up the nerve to off themselves, they need to breathe in air and breathe it out again, need to drink water and piss it out again. At a minimum.

You're too old to be playing dumb.

Your question did not imply that your question pertained to "personal" need.

As far as my personal needs go, wouldn't I be the fool to share personal values that define need with one who screws around playing dumb.

*

Regarding an example that pertains to the gist of desire ...

For Ukrainians, stopping invaders is currently an all-consuming need.
As such, all their needs have been put into one basket, have coalesced into one need.

Into one all-consuming, burning desire to be fulfilled.

Here's the important part for you to remember, and perhaps twist into some other meaning, as appears to be your wont.*

Such an all consuming desire, as the inferred experience of Ukrainians currently in the news, is not by their choice.

It is choiceless and as has been mentioned, and ignored ...

Choiceless loss causes suffering.

However, I've made my point and if you don't get it by now, your loss, Cisco.

You'll continue to live ... in ignorance.

* If your deliberate twisting is one of those old timer methods to elicit interaction, well, there's a good old-time response to such hubris and arrogance, oft' used in these environs.
