Of course, there are people who believe in the Bible. Not many in this forum. Anyway.Dontaskme wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 6:22 pmExcellent.bahman wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 6:09 pmWhat I believe is simple. There is no God, where God is the creator of everything from nothing. God of the Bible, I don't think so since He is not obviously the creator of everything but He also has serious issues one of them is the subject of this thread. Obviously, you and I are not believers but I am not challenging you and your belief here.Dontaskme wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 5:51 pm
When you attribute a conceptual label to a doer, as you have stating in God did.. you are essentially creating an idea in your mind that there is a known thing that does actions.
Now, can you see what you've done there? Ask yourself, do I bahman honestly believe there is such a thing called God to be real and true. Right now, ask bahman to tell you whether bahman has actually SEEN this God with your own eyes, that you claim punishes people.
If you do believe and have seen God with your own eyes, then how is anyone else on this forum supposed to disprove what you believe and have seen with your own eyes...do you see where I am going with this?
Do continue, this is a very intriguing discussion...
See my reply above...
But I fail to see why you would want to challenge anyone about a thing that does not exist. But that's the most entertaining thing about human beings, they're completely bonkers. ( just kidding) have fun!

Hahaha!!Impenitent wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 3:21 pm if knowledge was actually from a tree, wouldn't you expect squirrels to remember where they hid their nuts?

Not sure about the squirrels, but the problem is, if you've been a naughty boy and keep returning to eat from the tree, the medical profession might end up with a visit from you, and deem you insane. (which has certain advantages though!)
btw Are there more pens or pennies in tents? Is it intense or intents being Impenitent?
Re: The tree of knowledge
Creation implies a creator...so the very idea there is a creator is false from the start.
Creation implies done. And that would contradict the seamless flow that is this immediate ever changing evolution. Creation would make evolution not be happening. But it is self evident that life is always a work in progress, and never done.
However, life is the only doer here..in so much as doing is done, but no doer thereof.
The way I see this, is that certain words and concepts can mean so many different things to different people, as they each interpret and ascribe meaning to their individual world view, according to how they personally perceive it.
Re: The tree of knowledge
Another thought is that we can observe this fact to be correct
So forms will always come and go including the earth form and all it's co- inhabitant forms. Some forms may even go extinct. However, the life giving energy in and of itself cannot go extinct. Energy forms must be happening right now in different stages around the entire manifested universe.
We can observe that life forms exist, and that they must have always existed, in some form or another, even when some of those life forms have no awareness of their existence. And so it is clear that life must have always existed, and that is all that can be known about it. So to assume there was a creator, or a beginning would be a false notion, simply because as a human sentient observer, we too are just a temporal form that will be here today and gone tommorow, until the energy that was us is transformed into another form of energy.
The problem with the human mind, is that it is a control freak. It doesn't like not knowing, so it will make up all kinds of stories, and models to suit it's own agenda.
It's a futile pursuit to worship knowledge, because knowledge is always about history, and history is dead stuff.
Having knowledge is a curse in my opinion, because in knowledge one becomes aware of the futility and the inhospitable experience of what it is like being a sentient creature, where there is a knowing you have been born which is ultimately a death sentence, one that may be a really nasty and horrible agonising death. It's actually quite disgusting.
Re: The tree of knowledge
How so? Can you disprove the existence of God?
Oh boy, you haven't seen one of these fundamentalists who believe in God. What evolution, they say?
What do you mean?
That is very true.
Re: The tree of knowledge
The human mind created God, in the same context, all known things are mental creations. And the KNOWN know nothing...so there is no creator of anything...except as a false belief, and assumption in this conception, that nothing conceived.
What do I mean by doing is done, but no doer thereof...is simply, your heart is beating, and your lungs are breathing etc..etc..all by themselves.
Re: The tree of knowledge
Yes, somethings are stories made of the human mind, and some aren't. These people however need proof to be convinced. For some of them, even proof does not work.Dontaskme wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 1:07 pmThe human mind created God, in the same context, all known things are mental creations. Re: The tree of knowledge
Religious people are like small children who live 100% of their time in a world of make-belief, fantasy and imagination.
Religious people just cannot grow up and face real facts about earth origins and how evolution really works, even when today's modern day scientists and biologists who have worked really hard and diligently, dedicating their whole lives doing research, each studying in their own particular fields of knowledge about the physical environment and evolutionary facts.. all of which can be shown and evidenced.
So all I can say is let them that have their beliefs have them and cling onto them for dear life, what ever they are, if that's what gets them through the day.

No, I cannot let people have a false belief.

Haha, just try taking candy away from a baby, and you get one mega tantrum. The point is, no matter what we want to call nature. Be it a God or whatever, nature will still be an insidious psychopathic serial killer. Who only tricked us into thinking life could be all about pink balloon chasing.
