It is not an immature question, rather a question about spiritual immaturity.Walker wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 5:54 pmThen you agree that the question is immature.Veritas Aequitas wrote: ↑Sun Dec 16, 2018 3:51 amIt is not what you prefer i.e. off topic.
The reality is there are people who believe their God is the greatest and dominates over all other gods, humans and the universe.
My point is I am confident no believers with a normal mind will believe in an inferior god against some other believers who claim their God is the most superior.
This impulse for a one-up stance is a natural instincts and very common in kindergarten and grade school yards. Unfortunately many are still impulsive with such instincts [ego maniacs] as adults even to their 70s [nb: the present Mr. T].
However in either an eternal life or eternal death/Hell situation, most theists will not believe and concede to an inferior God since it just a matter of thought in accepting the greatest of the great, i.e. a God than which no greater can exists.
A rain god that can parch you or drown you has power over your life, and what greater power can there be?

Good point.
Re: Will Any Theist Believe in an Inferior God?
Why it is spiritual immaturity.
“It is important to see that the main point of any spiritual practice is to step out of the bureaucracy of ego. This means stepping out of ego’s constant desire for a higher, more spiritual, more transcendental version of knowledge, religion, virtue, judgment, comfort, or whatever it is that the particular ego is seeking. One must step out of spiritual materialism … Our vast collections of knowledge and experience are just part of ego’s display, part of the grandiose quality of ego. We display them to the world and, in so doing, reassure ourselves that we exist, safe and secure, as ‘spiritual’ people.”

Dystheists do. I think that counts. Actually, I think deists do as well. Misotheists? Definitely. They think he's an effing arsehole.

VA
Defining the inferior god as a goddess seems to be a reasonable assumption. But then again the feminists will complain and demand equality or even superiority but we know better.Does any theist here accept a God that is inferior to another God claimed to be more superior?
Re: Will Any Theist Believe in an Inferior God?
all Hindus do, as all archaic Jews (pre-400 BC - Judaim was polytheistic - just read the OT to see this fact).Veritas Aequitas wrote: ↑Sat Dec 15, 2018 6:14 am An inferred from this discussion,

I'm an Atheist, so deny both lesser and higher Gods.
Re: Will Any Theist Believe in an Inferior God?
more bullshit from you. as you know I read some of the Koran back in the 1980's - when you were your mom's wetdream and 911/islamophobia was not yet born.Veritas Aequitas wrote: ↑Sat Dec 15, 2018 6:14 am
This is what happened with Islam claiming their God to be the most superior and thus dominate over all other inferior gods including the corrupted God of Christianity and Judaism.
you are full of it.
Allah is YHWH.
Koran AFFIRMS OT YHWH as GOD.
Muslims - LIKE the JEWS DENY Jesus as God or even God's Son.
so i note your bullshit above!
Muslims affirm the same God Jews do.
Both Jews and Muslims deny the Christian God Jebus.
deal with it.
I'm an Atheist, and equal opportunity observer.
and note your bullshit via obervation, and so value ACCURATE FACTS!
Muslims and Jews affirm the same God i deny a belief in.
Christian claim the same God had a son, and is also God - which both Jews and Muslims deny deal with it bubba
Re: Will Any Theist Believe in an Inferior God?
yes, Muslims and Jews affirm the same God - YHWH/Allah.
leaves the Christians out of the party, worshiping a man as God/God's Son.
Re: Will Any Theist Believe in an Inferior God?
more anti-islam bullshit from you.Veritas Aequitas wrote: ↑Sun Dec 16, 2018 3:38 amNope!
The well-meaning Jews and Christians may like to think so.
But within the Quran and Islam it is declared the present God of the Jews and Christians are a bastardized and corrupted god which is not Allah the greatest [Allahu Akbar] Islamic God.
The Quran claimed Allah delivered the original pristine Torah and Injeel [Gospels] to the Jews but they subsequently bastardized and corrupted the originals from God.
yes the "true god" mindset via the Koran WRT to "people of the book's" God is as you state.
but you show your bullshit bias in ignoring the SAME view of Christian via thier NT WRT to "people of the book's" view of of YHWH!!!!!!!!
so deal with it!
Muslims and Jews affirm "GOD", and the Christians are the odd men out, and affirm a Son of God as God - which both Jews and Muslims reject.
Re: Will Any Theist Believe in an Inferior God?
indeed the mindset of all Jews living in kiryat arba - smashing the heads of Palistinians for being subhuman though living there centuries longer than the New Yorker asshole "Jewish" transplants to the West Bank.Veritas Aequitas wrote: ↑Sun Dec 16, 2018 3:44 amThe arrogant believers who believe their God is the greatest without exception don't give a damn what you believe, and will bully more if your god is a weakling. for such - "city gods" of other cites are lesser gods and affirmed, not rejected to go to war over.
you have much to learn bubba.

When polytheists are challenged or cornered that their god is inferior to another greater God thus cannot guarantee them a place in heaven, they will have to shift to an ontological God.
This is why the majority of theists at present are monotheistic with inclination toward an ontological God. Get it!!

Different ‘THAN’ is an accepted American English standard. Its usage does not make one illiterate. The rules of grammar are not invariant, they change with time and place. Some sources consider the different to be one of style rather than grammar. (Or do you think it should be “rather from grammar”?)Different 'FROM' you illiterate yank.

i use the former, as an iconoclast, though all others use the latter ;-/

same with me using Quash instead of Squash.................again it seems the literately challenged do not use the proper word quash - esp when viewing TV news about the indictable Trumpler and his bullshit actions.

I understand your "point", its to discredit Islam (by claiming it denies the Judeo-christian God) -when in fact there is not JudeoChristian God.Veritas Aequitas wrote: ↑Sat Dec 22, 2018 6:15 amYou missed my point.gaffo wrote: ↑Sat Dec 22, 2018 6:10 amthen you know nothing about polytheism - the default religion of our world prior to zero ad - and still major percentage of world population.Veritas Aequitas wrote: ↑Sun Dec 16, 2018 3:51 am It is not what you prefer i.e. off topic.

there is the Jewish/Islamic God - Father God Allah/YHWH.
and the Christian God Jebus.
you are disshonest in your view that the Christian God is the Jewish one, then the Jewish one is the Muslim one and the Christian God is the odd God out.
deal with it.
I'd sick of your disshonesty per theological fact. your Christian bias is all too clear.
