The guy who won't be king.
That has a nice ring to it. I can just see the billboards, with lights flashing around it,

Neither. You're thinking of Diana's kids.

That's the shitty bit about titles. Once the heir is born, the other kids become superfluous. George VI was the exception.

I'm pretty sure the opposite is true. Henry the eighth is just one example. His brother Arthur was older than him.
Sometimes they all die (or don't get born) and some obscure cousin ends up getting the job.

I feel your pain. Although Henry the 8 had all kids become sovereign, one at a time.

Hungary was hard up for royals at several points in its history. Once they voted for a king. And once the Kingdom of Hungary, a landlocked country, was governed by an Admiral on a white horse. Once, like Veg said, Hungary had to track down a bantling boy of the Hungarian royal line in France to be brought to Hungary to govern the country. He did actually the best job for the country of the entire lot, and his son. Once Hungary, in one of the dire king-shortages, shared one with Poland. And eventually they sold the crown provisionally to the Holy Roman Empire (some call it German-Roman empire) by betting whose line will die out first, and the survivor gets both countries. That's how the Hapsburg family gained finally legal right to put its hand on Hungary.

I was thinking more recently, but yes, Henry 8th kids, Henry 2nd kids, James 1st kids... and James 2nd through Anne Hyde... list goes on, I'm aware. Still, first come, first served.

I know Viscount Torrington's 5th cousin in Toronto is up next for that title, veg.

I'll try to be more precise in future. Silly me.
