I define evil as the intentional harming others with the purpose of harming others.
And why is that evil? It is harming others.

What else should be evil? You got to have a definition of the word. Yours might differ from mine though.

So you mean we have to invent 'evil' ?

Good and evil are relative. They are subjective experiences.
However, suffering is mostly a universal phenomenon, in as we share the same abilities to feel pain, sorrow, discomfort of all sorts. Therefore I can with high certainty tell you what is evil - that is to deliberately inflict suffering upon another being - human or other animals.

If you genuinly are questioning deliberate harm as being evil, you're a troll. I am not going to waste any more of my time on you.
I will also report you to the moderators after I've sent this post.

You are welcome to do as you wish - you have free will.
But the question stands. Why is it evil?
I will purposefully, swiftly and deliberately end your life if your actions so much as put me or anybody I love in immediate danger of injury or death. Whether your actions are the result of deliberation OR sheer ignorance is immaterial to me. All that matters is that I love and care about those that are close to me more than I care about you. I choose their life over yours.
Is that evil?

What if he's wearin' a dog suit when he puts you or anybody you love in immediate danger?
Will you still end him?

Yes, that is evil.
Like the death penalty, where harm is deliberately inflicted on serial killers. It doesn't matter why someone is being harmed. All that matters is if the harm is intentional.
But if you do it to PROTECT another from harm, that is to prevent harmful actions to another, and you in turn inflict harm on the aggressor, that is not evil. But that is only applicable in situations of the aggression taking place at that moment of aggression.
It is known as self-defense. Death penalty or vengeful actions are not self-defense.

Self-defence is the clear-cut case. It is not interesting.
You are using the word 'aggressor' which implies
intentional harm. I explicitly said that I will end your life even if you bring upon my loved ones
ignorant harm. At that particular moment of ignorance.
In the American legal system this is the distinction between Manslaughter and Homicide. And so I will DELIBERATELY harm you to prevent the manslaughter of my loved ones.
