China is the most prominent socialist culture, polity and economy on Earth, but I wouldn't say their governance style is liberal.
For the discussion of all things philosophical.

I think the big question is what do we mean by natural? Does anything Homo Sapiens do make it natural? What's natural today may be unnatural tomorrow. Isn't it also true there is no standard for liberalism as that can change on a daily basis?Charles wrote: βThu May 17, 2018 9:32 pm Anyone read Patrick Deneen's Why Liberalism Failed? Did you find the case for natural law persuasive? Can we trace the anthropological insights to Nietzsche? The illiberal, conservative case is novel, but getting more traction in the US with or current political dysfunction.

Who doesn't love a royal wedding, but why have they ruined our fun with all those talking-head bores banging on about their bloody charities?
That means you think the couple have chosen their preacher wisely by pointing out he's American.vegetariantaxidermy wrote: βSat May 19, 2018 1:25 pm Oh my god, an obnoxious American evangelical preacher has just hijacked Harry's wedding and Prince Charles and William can barely keep a straight face![]()

What is your notion of "actual liberalism" that you obstinately refuse to define?VT wrote:βIs this referring to actual liberalism, or some illiterate American wanker's moronic 'definition' of 'liberalism'?β
No I don't. Tell me how that's like for you?vegetariantaxidermy wrote: βSat May 19, 2018 2:20 pmHmm. You seem to be skipping the fact that Meghan is also an American (explains the American preacher). So in this instance, you can tell the difference.vegetariantaxidermy wrote: βSat May 19, 2018 1:25 pm Oh my god, an obnoxious American evangelical preacher has just hijacked Harry's wedding and Prince Charles and William can barely keep a straight face![]()
I am sure they will be do-gooding bores just like their parents.
I wonder who paid for the wedding? (Rhetorical question). That raving egomaniac was so out of place it was like an SNL skit (a very funny one)Philosophy Explorer wrote: βSat May 19, 2018 7:36 pmYou seem to be skipping the fact that Meghan is also an American (explains the American preacher). Btw not the first time an American had married into British royalty and is the second time an actress has done so from the US.
