Yeah, but not as a result or their optimism.
What a contradiction! Optimists are often disappointed over their expectations. Pessimists, hardly ever.
So, I'm a wack job because I'm a pessimist who is happy? Fuck you, Jade.

Exactly. The only way it wouldn't be a contradiction is if you were an exceptional sadomasochist.

Again, fuck you. By your standards, I'm sick if I can still enjoy the world I'm stuck with, and should top myself. You have a lot to learn about life and people.
So, if I love good music, good food, good friends, good movies, what I do for a living, I clearly must be a sadomasochist, because good things shouldn't make a pessimist happy.
But yeah, now I recall you counselled me in another thread to top myself, ya sick fuck.

Then explain how it is possible without referring to something like sadomasochism. There's nothing wrong with it. It's just a condition. You are the one with the offensive opinion, that such people are "wack jobs." Btw, I meant the non-sexual version.
I didn't say pessimists can't be happy. I mean that pessimism can't make you happy without something like sadomasochism.

If you don't get it by now, you never will, fuckhole. I'm done with you. I don't need your brand of negativity in my life.

Be rational, not emotional. If I'm wrong, explain why. There's no need to get bent out of shape. I meant no offense.
Also, how can you possibly see your reaction as belonging to someone who doesn't need counseling of some sort? There's no shame in it. Many Americans need it. It is conducive to what I call mental wellness.

Yes, you fucking did! I don't need to prove I'm not a sadomasochist to you or anyone else. Save the pop psychology bullshit for someone you actually know. You are defining pessimism to equate to unhappiness, when it is not. So what's the point of debating something you won't or can't change? If you define a poison as a vitamin, or a building as a moving vehicle, how do you expect me to debate within your framework?
And I'm not going to read posts that encourage anyone to kill themselves. Best you do some serious thinking on your own behaviour. You've earned my contempt and disgust.

By asking you to explain what must be quite simple.
As for the rest of your post, I don't know what you're talking about. Where did you get suicide from?

How can a pessimist enjoy food ?
A pessimist must think: the food could be poisoned or I will get a heart-attack or I will get an allergy or I will put on weight and stop being attractive to the opposite sex etc. etc.
There.

Okay, explain how that would make someone happy.
Are you going to say it comes from the relief? Then it isn't the pessimism that leads to happiness, but the wrongness of pessimism.

You've already defined pessimism as unhappiness. Ergo, you won't accept any explanation (not that you're owed one) to the contrary. So, its not so.simple, is it?
Twice.now, you've sugessted I could leave life if I don't like the rules, or 'un rules' as you put it the first time. Thats theproduct of a sick mind, and also opens you to liability.

Pessimist comes from Latin and means: the worst.
You think that the worst will probably happen.
So a pessimist is not a realist who calculates probabilities, it is someone who expects the worst to happen.
"Pessimo" means "the worst" in Italian.
Prego, signiori, un poco di gentilezza, grazie.

I'd be happy to hear how negativity makes someone happy.

A pessimist isn't a one-dimensional comic character to be scripted to your liking. Any other straw men?

Who shall explain ? Me ???
I was trying to help you, Jaded.
I wanted Dalek to explain how a pessimist like him can enjoy food and other pleasures.
