Some people speak or post in a boring way and some people in a fascinating way.
Umberto Eco (who died a few days ago) was a fascinating writer, I must say, although he could be very vulgar at times
Rhetoric teaches the art of speaking in a fascinating way.
Boredom is affiliated to tediousness. Tediousness arises from repetition, I suppose.
What we crave is variation.
Lack of perfection can sometimes provide unexpected variation.

Too much input can put one off and even cause migraine.
If there is not enough input from outside (because we are in prison for instance) we can inspect the input that is already stored in our brains and process this.
Boredom is a result of not making a right decision about what one needs to do at a given moment. Not enough input from outside ? Let me use the hard disk.

Boredom in a bedroom ?
A chance of introspection for a mind, while the body is relaxed.

Boredom is the reason we faked the moon landing, and the reason a mod in here has told me to stop pestering members with silly questions. Bad? No. Btw, can anyone use quantal in a sentence?

Hope offers a Janus mask fashioned by a
quantal future to distract from the bordeom that inspires expressionless blank burqas.

All the same, building those lunar sets was the most fun we ever had. In those days, we didn't have fancy software; had to do it all manually.
Faking Mars didn't even come close!

It must have cost a fortune paying all the conspirators to keep their mouths shut and not spill the beans to Fox News. You couldn't do it nowadays because it would be all over Facebook in a heartbeat.

That's because Fox News is run by aliens, and they have an interest in keeping the conspiracy a secret to maintain the Moon Base with which they have been continuously monitoring out activities, since 1850

It's funny you should say that. Since I posted my last comment there's been a black Hummer outside my gate with aerials plastered all over it. It's got two big blokes in it with dark glasses and cheap suits and they seem to be speaking into cell phones all the time. Should I be worried?

Don't worry I sent them there to keep a look out for Bob the Baptist who is sworn to kill us all.

He won't get in the country with his guns but if the dog lets him through the gate I'll give him a beer and try and talk some sense into him. Do you reckon that might be a waste of time?

Okay, I concede. Boredom is a terrible thing!
PS We never paid the conspirators. (Anyway, there were only six of us, using lots of stock NASA footage.) A couple of the guys went and blabbed to The Enquirer, and that was the end of that.

How did you manage to fool the Russians, who by all accounts were following the US space missions with more than a passing interest?
