Your perception?
Why would you think that I am any more absorbed/attached than anyone else here or in your living world?
I have been on this board for many years. My position has been extremely consistent.
One of the things that many here do not understand deeply enough is this medium.
THE WORST fucking, unforgiving, immoral transgression is - to be boring.
The individuals with the longest posts are the MOST blind, MOST boring. Actually, MOST attached.

By observing and interacting with you, and seeing that other people notice the same things. The way you blurt out things and then don't back them up or answer questions. One minute it's Jesus, one minute you're high, one minute it's Zen, or it's a flood of shallow images that apparently are supposed to communicate what you can't in words. (Sorry if this sounds harsh... but you are the one who keeps doing this, despite the feedback that others reflect back to you.)Bill Wiltrack wrote: Why would you think that I am any more absorbed/attached than anyone else here or in your living world?

Is this another one of your sweeping proclamations? Maybe you just have a short attention span.Bill Wiltrack wrote: The individuals with the longest posts are the MOST blind, MOST boring. Actually, MOST attached.
You said you understand (even more than you know about) Zen. I asked what your understanding is... but (as usual) you ignored answering. You might now be inclined to give some short cryptic answer as if that somehow indicates your cleverness... while concealing your lack of understanding. Can you provide something more substantial, or have I figured you out in this medium?
One more thing... you said this in response to thedoc's post...
Does this mean, Bill, that everything you rant about in regard to other people, only exists IN YOU... and if so, and if you are aware of this for yourself, why do you feel compelled to point these things out as you do? Is it because there are two sets of rules: One set when anyone says something about YOUR behavior (it's actually all about them), and a different set when you are saying something about someone's ELSE's behavior (it's still all about them)?Bill Wiltrack wrote:Oh, by the way, vulgar exists only in you. It's the ugly part of you.

This medium, is meant to be connotative & denotative. Words & images.
That is why the owner of this site generously provides a multitude of tools that are at our disposal - IF we choose to use them.
LOOK AT ANY popular website, magazine, or modern newspaper. People LOVE images.
What this medium CANNOT be is boring. THE MOST VALUABLE commodity in the digital age of communication is - attention.
I post a direct quote from one of the most famous modern spiritual leaders; Chandra Mohan Jain. And what do I get in response?
Dick-ish comments, BORING comments, LAZY comments, & personal attacks.
I don't give a fuck. That's on you.
Post in any way you want. Attempt to demonize any other fellow member. Knock yourselves out.
I don't care how anyone else posts, I do not want to control their content.
You will notice that once someone grows a set they stand-out here.
I know what I am. And I know what I am not.

Re: ~ The Zen Approach ~
Ah yes... more of the same from you Bill. And no answer to the questions posed. We know you don't care. All of your huffing and puffing about you knowing who you are is childish. The idea that "people LOVE images" is, again, a sweeping proclamation that fails to take into consideration a great deal... including appropriateness and the feedback you've received here. For some reason you are able to justify to yourself that the assessments you levy against other people are correct and deserved, but the impressions that others have about you are incorrect and inconsequential. Regardless of any quote you repeat, or seeming-epiphany you suddenly feel compelled to blurt out, a great deal has been (and continues to be) revealed through this medium from the accumulation of words and behaviors that are shared. And it's all written down! No getting out of it.

Chandra Mohan Jain, also known by - Osho.
OSHO (11 Dec 1931 – 19 Jan 1990) was an Indian mystic, guru and spiritual teacher. His international following has continued after his death.
A professor of philosophy, he travelled throughout India in the 1960s as a public speaker.
His was a critic of socialism, Mahatma Gandhi and institutionalized religions.
He advocated a more open attitude towards sexuality, earning him the sobriquet "sex guru" in the Indian and later international press.
In 1970, Osho settled for a time in Bombay, initiating disciples, known as neo-sannyasins, and expanded his spiritual teaching and work. In his discourses, he gave his original understanding and views on the writings of many religious traditions, mystics, and philosophers from around the world.
His intelligent discourse and charisma attracted a growing number of Westerners.
He moved to Pune in 1974, where his disciples established an ashram for his presence and work, where a variety of transformational tools could be offered to the visitors. Among those transformational tools, the ashram offered various original meditations that Osho developed for the modern man, many with an original musical score specifically designed to accompany each meditation. In addition, therapies derived from ancient and modern Western traditions including the Human Potential Movement were offered in the ashram to function as a cleansing tool before the subject began meditation.
...................................................
In mid-1981, Osho relocated to the United States and his followers established an intentional community, later known as Rajneeshpuram, in the state of Oregon.
Within a year, the leadership of the commune became embroiled in a conflict with local residents, primarily over land use, which was marked by hostility on both sides.
The large collection of Rolls-Royce cars purchased for his use by his followers also attracted notoriety.
The Oregon commune collapsed in 1985 when Osho revealed that the commune leadership had committed a number of serious crimes, including a bioterror attack (food contamination) on the citizens of The Dalles.
He was arrested shortly afterwards and charged with immigration violations. Osho was deported from the United States in accordance with a plea bargain.
Twenty-one countries denied him entry, causing Osho to travel the world before returning to Poona, where he died in 1990.
His ashram is today known as the Osho International Meditation Resort. His syncretic teachings emphasise the importance of meditation, awareness, love, celebration, courage, creativity and humour—qualities that he viewed as being suppressed by adherence to static belief systems, religious tradition and socialisation.
Osho's teachings have had a notable impact on Western New Age thought, and their popularity has increased markedly since his death.

...you're welcome.

Never heard of him, no-one wanted him, and from what you have posted he was just another televangelist type out to make money off of suckers. His death was No great loss to the world, and he wasn't practicing Zen, or anything like it.Bill Wiltrack wrote:.

When you are deluded and full of doubt, even a thousand books of scripture are not enough.
When you have realized understanding, even one word is too much.

Alan Watts was a deluded hippie. And old sayings are not necessarily true; they are just old.

Well, Alan Watts earned a master's degree, became a priest, had a radio show, taught college & wrote twenty-five books.
...so, there's that.
Apparently you hold a pretty high bar. What have you done? What is your real name & where is your Wikipedia page?

Who gives a shit. He's earned a living as a charlatan peddling bullshit and my point stands. And unlike you and Watts, I don't give a crap about making an impact here on earth, because it's shit and not my problem.Bill Wiltrack wrote:.

I've done two of these but I think this " & wrote twenty-five books" is very funny given this "When you are deluded and full of doubt, even a thousand books of scripture are not enough.
