Bullying tends to pass down the line.
The greater the conflict, the more extreme the fundamentalists become. Relatively moderate countries like Egypt and Turkey are starting to put the screws down on women now as the extremism of their neighbours builds.
So Eastern misogyny and all that the Eastern women are suffering is due to the West.
Somehow I do not see that as true but perhaps that is why so many of them want to move here and so few Easterners want to fight to free their countries. Seems we are also making the Eastern men into cowards.
We are all the same deep down, of course - just as brave, cowardly, smart, stupid, kind, unkind and so on. Trouble is, progress is difficult when always at war.
It's interesting to imagine what the Middle East and Islam would have become without the oil. Maybe they would have been far more moderate because there'd be less warfare to fire people up? Or maybe they still would have been involved in local conflict but not had as much impact on the world? I think of the middle east as being similar to Europeans in the centuries when they couldn't live peacefully together.
The question is whether struggling nations can modernise in time to avoid being decimated by environmental pressures, and associated resource-based warfare and associated disease and increased local violence. The current wave of refugees would appear to be the tip of the iceberg.

Oh, a video clip from faux news. How enlightening.
It hit home if you are reduced to talk of the source and not the content.

The only modern thing required is modern thinking by women. Many think that the problems you see and their solution that will depend on women and what they do.
If women do not teach equality to men, and demand it for themselves, then they will never have it. If you act like a n*****, you will be treated like one.

Last night in Paris was not a great advertisement for that idea.
No.

Islam is a misguided and immoral religion but does create a climate where some of their adherents have the courage of their convictions and that is a quality that other religions have lost.
In that sense and that sense alone, Islam is a superior religion.
I think it has to do with sacrifice.

This scholar is speaking of the fact that the more one sacrifices to an idea or religion, the longer it will maintain itself.
