BUt doesn't it piss-down with rain in Canada? Plus all that snow-melt?
Is that your experience in Canada? Yes, stretching thousands of miles, north to south, east to west, Canada is deluged daily with rain water and snow melt. Truly amazed Candians don't develop gills...

No idea, that's why I asked you as a goggle had average rainfall as a third to half the year in Ontario. That and that Canadian friends appeared to live under heavy winters.

Four UKs could fit into my province alone. Do you really think a country this size has weather consistent cross-country?

This article just came out and it puts it in a dollar and sense way:

http://www.treehugger.com/clean-water/c ... ornia.html

Here's an article with more information:

Just caught this related article which puts its own spin on it (the project sounds very ambitious):

That's one of the reasons why I add more articles to a thread when they come up (one of my complaints too)

That is the most pathetic answer for not contributing, except to clog up the site, I have ever heard.

Except that it is contributing HC. Can you specify what the article left out?

I would if I thought you had read the article, rather than just linking it.
Why no go back and ask yourself that question then I'd not have to do all your thinking for you.

I'm not playing this childish game of who makes the first move with you. Apparently you have no answer.

Last page, I was agreeing with you - except I said it first. At that point, I couldn't see the point I might have been missing. Unless you meant "somebody" other than me was missing some point other than yours.

Maybe i'll come back when I learn to read better.

LA's water issue is not related to a "all over" drought. The "point" was that LA is a desert with millions of people stealing water from 100s of miles away.

Are we on the same page?

LA is one city currently having a draught - as is the whole west coast, much of it on fire. LA happens to be in the desert, like El Salvador and Cairo. All major cities, whether they're in deserts or not, steal, buy and borrow water from elsewhere - as do gold mines, facking operations, cattle ranches, golf courses and rich bankers.
Global problem, and getting worse fast.
I haven't missed the point; I merely elaborated on it.

No its not happening "everywhere"

In each case it is a "LOCAL" problem, not a global one. The danger is that LA will try to pretend a global problem and wash its hands of its own responsibility. There is not a global drought, but a series of localised abuses of water use.
