Is the US media left-wing or right-wing?

How should society be organised, if at all?

It's irrelevant.
It's irrelevant alright, just like Europe!

Or maybe you think that the reporting is evenly balanced between the opposing views.

There is balance.

1. all right.

It is left wing when it comes to social issues, gay marriage etc
It is right wing when it comes to economic issues ( those issues that favor international corporations ) , TPP
https://wikileaks.org/tpp-enviro/pressrelease.html
http://www.citizen.org/TPP
The TPP is pure evil. That is why no one is allowed to know anything about it until it passes.
This only makes sense because the media is controlled by very wealthy capitalists. The elite are not fundamentalists ( even Cheney has a gay daughter) . They do not care about those issues. What they care about is maintaining their wealth and privilege. That is why the supposedly left wing media portrayed the occupy wall street movement as bums and criminals. In reality the entire country ( the tea party was started by those angry over the wall street criminals stealing and destroying large swaths of the American economy. It was not until the Koch brothers took over the tea party that it became a puppet of international corporations) was VERY angry about the criminal banks and wall street gangsters.

You don't speak English and you don't know how to use a dictionary, but you insist on blowing hot air out of your ass!

A pleasure. It's a shame that Mr. Bob is trashing it - as usual.

But let's imagine for a moment that Bob is the average US citizen. I think now we can see why the "balance" of left and right might not be what the average educated European might expect.
And as I said in an other thread - the US has right wing, very right wing, and extreme right wing.

Hobbes, when it comes to America, you don't know shit from Shinola, and when it comes to arguing a point, you know even less. It is well known that U.S. academia is decidedly left-wing, and the same goes for U.S. media with the exception of Fox News.

I didn't say you weren't an American; I just said you didn't know shit from Shinola. On the other hand, I don't believe any red-blooded American would ever use the stupid British term "tosser."

Did you move to the US, Hobbes? For some reason, I thought you were a British dualie, but that's perhaps my faulty memory.

I've always had a choice. I chose the UK.
And morons like Bob are the reason why.
I regard my passport as a legal necessity. I don't buy into the nationhood scam, and do not think nationalism or patriotism brings out the best in people - on the contrary. I mean to say look at Bob!! :D
