I think there's much more to the truth of that saying.
Feel free to elaborate.
Why do people like to be right ?
Re: Why do people like to be right ?
A man may want to be right but as every feminist knows, he is still wrong putting an end to this ancient philosophical question
"If a man alone in the woods speaks, and his wife cannot hear him, is he still wrong?"

Hi there, Nick. My ancestor was a Nick, from the Ukraine. Interesting parallel to today’s dynamic that flyover-country Ukraine (before there was much flying over) became Moscow’s servant … farmers enslaved to the cities. Such would happen in the USofA without an electoral college.
I’ve noticed that by old age most men have perfected the poker-face mask. Even when still supremely rational this mask gets frozen in place, even if the old timer may have reached the point where he just doesn’t care anymore and says anything he pleases … which reminds me of the one-on-one fights Biden was picking with citizens in town hall meetings, before they put him in the basement for the rest of the campaign because he wasn’t exactly supremely rational. Who voted for this guy? Track ‘em down … no wait, that’s what you do with the other guy’s voters.
There’s another kind of old-timer, and that’s the one who has learned the truth of the relationship between right and happy. This one also wears the mask but he has other tells that are caused by forgetting to be resentful. I’ve witnessed such men take abuse and when things come around, when the woman is vulnerable, when life has weakened her, he has no resentment of who she was when she was strong. He only helps and comforts her.
In this modern-time when women are riding with training wheels for strong and assertive in trying to transcend their natural ways, most still need a safe refuge.

We are neighbors. My grandfather's grandfather was from the Ukraine; an Armenian from Theodosia along the Black Sea. He was an exception, a much admired pure individualist. We need more of these talented types in the world to remind us of the potential for human "being" rather than hiding in the basement glorifying the Great Beast.Walker wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 1:22 pmHi there, Nick.
